Have your parents ever told you you couldn't make a living playing video games? That's what everyone my generation heard the second you reached high school.

"You'll be broke in a month!"

"You aren't even thinking about your future!!"

"You're better off at a burger place than that!!!"

Those were the words you were told if you ever thought about that career. Dreams crushed  in a single conversation. They started looking for better jobs to "have a life" as they said. Those traitors... all except for my best friends.

I thought I would never escape my fate as being one of them... that was until I met Her. She helped me realize to follow my dreams and not listen to others. She helped clear the despair of others from clouding my judgement.

I always loved games. I played them since as far back as I can even remember. I always was amazed by the graphics and story. Hours each day, playing games and watching online walkthrough videos. The day I joined the game club at school I felt a spark of hope burn into a bonfire inside me. I knew I found my goal. But the problem was that I had to keep it a secret from my family. They would discourage me and force me to study for better jobs.

The day that my dreams were in reach wasn't very different from my usual day though...Except for a few extra quarters and meeting the best female video gamer in the whole states counts as different...
