Chapter 1 (Player 1 Ready)

I was jolted awake by the sound of my alarm. Knowing that today is a day I shouldn't be late, I decided to stay up (even though I was tempted). After slowly getting up from my bed, I check around my dark room. All my posters and consoles still there so no change. I groggily stumble to the bathroom after grabbing a set of clothes.

I turn the water knob so that the water slowly heats up. I glance at myself in the mirror and see a teen with short dry hair, hazel eyes, and a tired posture. Yup, nothing different. After a quick hop in the shower, I get started on my day. After putting on a black T-shirt, denim jeans, and a jacket, I grab my bag and left the house. My siblings usually wake up half a hour after I leave.

I wait on the corner near Burrito King waiting for my best friend. His name is TheT1nkerer (read as the Tinkerer). I know what your thinking ," Is that really his name?" the answer is NO, it's not. His real name is Jax Cook but T1nkerer was his gamertag for most of his consoles. He is pretty goofy and makes everyone laugh at him each day. I met him during the beginning of middle school when he somehow handcuffed himself to the flagpole. (He will never tell me where he got the handcuffs or how he got there.)

"GAMER!!!"

I sighed after hearing Jax shout the nickname he gave me. My real name is Jade Price. I was born in the states and have been going to high school for 3 years now. My gamertag is Gamer because when I first met Jax I didn't know what was the perfect name. After asking Jax, he told me to make it gamer because I always talk about games and tricks. I did it to appease him and it grew on me.

"Can't you be quiet once in a while? The neighbors probably think you're seeing the bloody Grim after you." I tell after he finally reached me. "Hey they need to believe in him. Ever since December started everyone keeps talking about Santa." he explained. After bashing my head against the light post, I ask ,"Hey have you seen the latest news from the Tavern?"

The Tavern is a online gaming site online where many gamers come together and share any game related news. It tells the newest games and champions. "Yah did you hear that the Princess won the last Soldier Ops tournament." Jax shouted. "SHHHH do you want all the neighbors to sick their dogs on us AGAIN" I yelled. ( Don't ask... we agreed never to mention that day again.)

The Princess is one of the greatest female gamers in the world. She has been known to win contests without any loses. She pubstomps on many fantasy and shooter games. One of the many topics on the Tavern was her Identity. She always goes to a competition with a hood and surgical mask on. The only thing known about her is that she's a brunette and with green eyes. She only makes appearances and anyone she beats is forced to kneel before her.

"Who was it anyway that lost to her? I know she already beat Terminetor and Jason Gore in a battle royal last week." I ask Jax. After he calmed down, he answered, "She beat Rick Crimes in that zombie shooter he known to play. On that note did you know that the Game Corner finally got the machine and a line already starting." "WHY THE HECK DIDN'T YOU TELL ME EARLIER!?! WE GOTTA GET THERE NOW" I shouted, frustrated he didn't tell me this earlier. "Dude calm down. It's not long yet. Oh yea here's the 20 dollars I owe you." Jax said after I breathed. Jax owes me cause we always buy instant soup and I always pay. He makes me mad when he dumps the water on the ground shouting,"FOR THE HOBOS!" I tell him that's stupid but he doesn't care. "Great that's at least one good thing that happened today. We have more quarters now to play with." I sigh.

We jumped onto the bus and head downtown. Little did I know who I'll meet when we get there...
