Nia's POV
"Nia! Get ready for dance!"
Yelled mom from downstairs.
I was really exited for dance today.
Last week I did really good in the group dance.
She put me in front, right next to Maddie, so that's a great sign.
I put on my dancewear and grabbed my shoes.
I got in the car and mom drove me to ALDC.
When I got there Kendall greeted me.
"NIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
"KENDALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!"
"NIAAAA! KENDALLLL! GET IN HERE FOR PYRAMID!!!"
Abby screamed.
We scurried into studio A.
"OKAY FIRST ON THE PYRAMID IS NIA."
I was shocked.
I thought I did great!
"You were ok in the group dance, but the fact that you are...darker than the rest of the girls made it look very awkward."
WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!???!???????????!!!!!!!?!
SHE PUT ME ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PYRAMID BECAUSE IM BLACK?!???
I knew Abby was rude, but not this rude!
"Next on the pyramid is Kendall.
Kendall, I hardly even noticed you were there in the group dance."
"Next is Mackenzie.
You had a solo but you placed third! Not at ALDC Mackenzie!"
"Second is Chloe.
Work on your faces!
Your face was completely blank during the group dance.
But good technique."
"NOW ON TOP OF THE PYRAMID IS THE AMAZING MADDIE!!
YOU GOT FIRST IN YOUR SOLO AND YOU WERE FLAWLESS IN THE GROUP DANCE!!!!"
"Okay everyone."
"This weekend we are going to Philadelphia for our competition."
"Maddie will have a lyrical solo called 'Water Lilies' and Chloe will be doing a contemporary solo called 'Butterfly in the Sky."
"The group dance will be called 'White Girls'."
"Nia will not be participating in the dance because, well, she's not white!"
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING MEEEEE?????????
I HAD NO IDEA ABBY WAS SO RACIST!!
"But Nia, you will also be coming to the practices so you can observe."
"Now go put your dance shoes on and start stretching."
As we all left the room I was holding back tears.
We went into the den and I couldn't control myself anymore.
I bursted into tears.
All the girls ran over to me and gave me a group hug.
All the cameras were recording my pain.
If there were no cameras I would have just let it out.
But I told the girls I was ok.
But when I got home later I cried my eyes out.
Tomorrow I have to go to the 'White Girls' practice.
I'm planning on holding it in again.
Or Abby will tell me,
"Save your tears for the pillow"
