"Promise me, that you'll be the one who holds my bouquet of freesia one day."

___

It is a night in December, when Seoul is covered in snow and speck of snowflakes. Upon the sky, I can see constellations of stars glittering, that have never shone so bright — as if they are smiling, smiling wonderfully.

I've never seen you being this ecstatic before. All because of this bouquet of freesia in my hands.

Beside me is a beautiful, warm-hearted, charming, smart, and amazing guy in a black tuxedo, who has changed me from a lazy and stubborn girl to a better person. The day you walked into my life, I can never forget. The feelings and emotions, I can never get enough of — if only, I was more thoughtful and realistic.

If only, I told you.

I heaved an exasperated sigh, watching around the large library full of people. It was probably the toughest time of my college life, as final exams came, everyone was busy revising in order to have their aimed degrees. That was why, we'd been staying at this place for almost four hours. And I couldn't believe, I was willing to do so. Thanks to you.

"So which type of planets are you thinking about this time ?" You suddenly asked in a serious tone, and I startled.

You brought me out of my own dream land, once again.

"Uh- It's nothing, I'm just- tired." I awkwardly replied, trying my best not to look at you, that doubtable eyes of yours.

It'd been a year since you started helping me with my classes, being my tutor for different occasions, and supporting me whenever I needed. I used to be a lazy girl, who never cared about university, whose life was so messy and meaningless. Then you appeared, and all those traits demolished. Maybe you didn't notice, but all these weird actions of mine, were because of you. Because I'd unfortunately, completely fallen for you.

"Let's go, Y/N." As you flashed a light smile, I felt a breeze of cool air traveling within my soul, warming my heart in the most perfect way. I nodded, and followed you outside.

Seoul was raining that day, which reminded me of cliche scenes in dramas — whereby the main character and the man she loved, sauntering along the streets, hand in hand. Of course, neither did I have the chance nor courage to hold yours. But I was already ecstatic, just by walking next to you.

Rain drops continued to fall, all the more harshly, and that evening wouldn't have turned out to be special, if you hadn't lighted me a promise. A promise which was sweeter than any magic poison. A promise which greatly aspired my future, hopes and wishes.

That evening, I remembered you under the bus stop, staring at me softly and said, "Promise me, you'll be the one who hold my bouquet of freesia one day". That evening, I cried my eyes out of happiness, thinking you'd finally accepted my love. Because after all, freesia was the symbol of weddings.

From that day, I would never stop studying, reading books, and practicing, all for the best results, to make you proud of me. And for the very first time, I had the second highest score in finals. Thanks to you, again.

Everything was going well, we hung out frequently, shared random stories with each other every time, and you couldn't understand, how I kept smiling too much.

But cruelty, it didn't last long.

"It's time for you to make your promise Y/N, I'm getting married next year."

On a cloudy morning in August, I didn't remember how I managed to carve a tight-lipped smile in front you. Just so I knew, after that, I cried — nonchalantly, because of how dumb I was.

I love you Joon,

I love you.

Now, this breathtaking night in Seoul, I'm here, beside you — gazing at you and her, with this bouquet of white flowers.

Little do I know, you never love me. It was my imagination the whole time. That promise isn't a proposal.

I'm not your bride, but her. She is the real receiver of this bouquet, and I'm just the bridesmaid.

But for sure, I'll soon forget you, and search for my own love. I'll soon stop loving you, I promise.
