The 11th Birthdays (part 1)

I woke up, it was my 11th Birthday, I was so excited. I got up and look in the mirror, I could see the excitement in my piercing green eyes, I, Lily Evans, turned 11 today!

I got dressed in a white floral dress and brushed the knots out of my red flowy hair. When I was ready I went downstairs to have a meal with my family. As I entered the living room I saw my dad reading the newspaper and my sister, Petunia doing a puzzle. When they saw me, my dad wished me a happy birthday and Nia gave me a massive hug.

I hurried into the kitchen to see what meal my mother had made me for breakfast, to my surprise I saw a stack of pancakes drenched in maple syrup. It's very unusual FOR my mum to make pancakes since she hated them yet she knew how much my sister and I loved them. The rest of my family came in and we sat down to eat. I was putting some cream and extra syrup on my pancake when a tawny owl flew in through the window. It had something attached to its leg, a letter. My father untied it and the owl flew away. I waited a few moments before asking who it was for. The letter had my name on it so I thought it was best I open it.

The red wax seal on the back had a crest on it. I could make out four animals, a badger, a snake, an eagle and a lion. I stopped stalling and found the courage to open the letter, what if it was just my friends playing a prank on me?

I say the word witches and was sure this letter was a birthday joke from one of my friends. I heard Nia chanting "open it!" over and over again, finally, I gave in, I pulled out the piece of parchment and read:

Dear Miss Evans,

You have been accepted to Hogwarts school of Witch-Craft and Wizardry. There is an enclosed list of all the items you will need, as well as the instructions on how to get to Diagon  Alley, where you can find all of the items necessary.

Yours Sincerely,

Deputy Head-Mistress, Minerva McGonnagal.

I read the letter through a couple times to make sure this is real then I took out the other two parts of the letter and read them. When I had finished I told my parents I was excepted into a school for witchcraft and we need to go to the place called Diagon alley and I need to buy all of my equipment right away and they agreed however if it wasn't my birthday I am sure they would have said no, so we all go in the car and headed towards London.
