I woke up with a happy-sad feeling in my chest, it was my 11th birthday, the day I would have been getting my Hogwarts letter if it wasn't for the fact that I had lycanthropy, that's right, I am a werewolf which means my letter will never come. My father is a wizard and my mother is a muggle so I am a half-blood and I have accidentally used magic before so I am definitely not a squib, just a cursed child who doesn't deserve to go to Hogwarts and have friends, but that doesn't matter because I won't and can't seeing as I will never get my letter.

I got up and got dressed although I didn't really see the point. As I started to walk downstairs to get breakfast the doorbell went which is unusual as we never have visitors. My mum opened the door and I heard her say "Sorry no visitors" although I was sure she wasn't sorry... I heard the door slam shut and a few seconds later I heard a 'pop' noise coming from the living room, I knew what happened, the man outside the door had apparated into the house, so I went in and hear him call my fathers name. I wondered how he knew my father, were they friends? But all my questions would soon be answered.

As I walked into the room, the man with a beard down to his waist said "Ah Remus, I am Dumbledore and I need to talk to you and your parents" then he added, "Please take a seat". It felt strange to obey a complete stranger's orders in my own home, but it felt like the right thing to do, so I sat in my favourite armchair, by the fire. I was just about to ask him what he needed to talk to me about when my dad, Lyall, came in to see who the visitor was, "Sorry I was just finishing some work in my study when you arrived" But Dumbledore didn't say anything, he just smiled. My dad said a hello and I asked how they knew each other, this made Dumbledore chuckle and explain that he is the headmaster of Hogwarts.

This information confused me greatly for I wasn't expecting a letter let alone a visit from the headmaster himself. Dumbledore continued to talk about Hogwarts and all the teachers as well as the lessons a first-year student would take. Dumbledore had just finished telling my family about the care of magical creatures teacher when I accidentally blurted out "What's the point of this, I'm not going to Hogwarts anyways" to which he merely smiled and said "now dear Remus, that is what I am here to talk about" I just looked at him, does this mean there is a way for me to go to Hogwarts after all?
