On this particular night, there was a party. It was my friend's birthday, so if I didn't show up, what kind of friend am I? It had started to rain about a half hour earlier, so some people left for their own homes. Now only a handful of people stayed, either watching T.V or talking quietly.
I found Jared, the man of the hour, and we started to walk around the house talking. We eventually headed upstairs to his room. He was tired of all the people around him and just wanted to play his Xbox. When we got there we found a girl. She was sitting on his bed, waiting for Jared. He looked at me as if to say "You should go." I nodded and left the two alone.
I went downstairs, past all those watching T.V and talking, and walked outside. I pulled my hood up and leaned against the post outside. I glanced at my phone. 11:30. I relaxed with the sound of the rain and the distant sounds of the city in my ears.
