This is a Science based work of fiction.
Notice the word 'based'.
Most of the science behind this story is probably totally and completely wrong, but I am only a high school girl who, after two years of a very poor science teacher, only had Wikipedia and NASA articles as my weapons to write this.
The idea is very rough but fun, and if you don't understand everything, don't worry I don't either.
Plus they are black holes.
Surely they would know more about space than we do.
