"Good morning Nia! Sorry I'm a bit late," Kara huffed, darting into the office.

"It's no problem. I've kept busy. Here's your coffee Miss Danvers!"

"Life saver, thank you! But please, call me Kara!"

"Right! Of course, Kara."

Nia followed Kara to her desk. Her hands were full and incapable of taking a cup of coffee. Instead, Nia set the cup down on Kara's work surface, taking the last cup for herself.

"I hope it's not cold by now..." Nia sulked, worried that she was leaving a bad impression.

"Nia it's fine! I'm the one who's late, not you!" Kara reassured.

As Nia gave Kara her coffee, she turned to go back to her own desk, not wanting to leave any of her work unfinished. Kara stopped her by grabbing onto her arm.

"Hey, I don't suppose you've seen Lena around this morning?" Kara asked, with a hint of concern in her voice.

"No I haven't. Is something wrong?"

"Nah! Nothing's wrong. I just wondered. If you see her before I do, let her know I'm looking for her."

Nia grinned at the reporter in acknowledgment of her request. She finally took her own coffee and made her way back to her desk and proceeded to work on her reports. Despite James giving the piece on fashion to someone else, Nia felt bad that she didn't try harder for Kara. Nia wanted that report for herself, but she let it slip through her fingers. However, Kara had advised Nia to keep at it, write the report in her free time and present it to James. Such efforts would show real determination. It would most certainly get the new reporter into James' good books, even if the article wasn't published.

This morning was a hectic rush, like most mornings at the office. People were running around, back and forth from their desks to the printer, others getting up and asking for help and advice. Both Kara and Nia enjoyed the busy atmosphere. It made them feel like part of a community, all working together to present CATCO to the world. Each reporter is vital to the company's survival, and knowing that filled every worker with an unbelievable passion and drive to work to their full potential. Only the best of the best get to work under Cat Grant's name. After all, she is The Queen of all Media, the woman who named Supergirl. Despite not being at the office anymore, her presence still
lingered, and it never failed to hold a tight grasp over the company.

Nia had been sat down for less than five minutes before she found herself on her feet again. A fellow coworker had stumbled upon her desk and relayed a message on to Nia.

"Hey I heard that Boss is looking for you!" the guy said.

"Oh really? I was actually looking for her too."

"Yeah she wants both you and Kara. She told me she's in her office now."

Nia promptly stood up and marched over to Kara's desk. She didn't want to keep Lena waiting, especially since Kara was on the look out for her also.

"Found her!" Nia exclaimed, a little too excitedly.

"Found who?" Kara quizzed. She was so focused on her work that the thought of Lena had completely slipped her mind.

"Lena? She's in her office, she wants to see us."

"Oh right, right! You go first. I'll get there once I've finished this paragraph."

Making her way up to Lena's office, Nia payed attention to everyone who darted past her. Considering she was new, she still found the chaos of a big company so fascinating.

She was greeted by the slender, dark haired lady, once she was standing under the doorway to the room. "Hey Nia. Please, take a seat. You're not in trouble, don't worry!"

As asked, Nia took a seat on one of the ivory sofas. She waited patiently until Lena spoke. "I just wanted to personally congratulate you on being hired. It's nice to see some new, enthusiastic faces around here."

Nia beamed at the sudden compliment. It filled her with pride and fully welcomed her into the company.

As she turned to look, she noticed Kara walking straight in. As Nia was new, she felt rude waltzing into places that she was unfamiliar with. It was best to be polite and wait to be shown in. Kara had privileges though. Not only was she close to Lena, but she'd been working at CATCO for years. It gave her a status to go where she wanted, when she wanted.

"Hope I didn't miss anything. I was just finishing up my report," Kara said, a bit out of breath.

"Busy morning, Miss Luthor-Danvers?" Lena questioned, with open arms.

Kara embraced with Lena before pecking her on the lips. Nia was completely gobsmacked. She knew so much about Kara, had looked up to her as a role model and was even working alongside her now, yet was completely unaware that she was married to her boss.

"W-wait- you two are-" Nia stuttered.

"Nia, this is my wife, Lena Luthor-Danvers," Kara introduced.

She kissed her wife again, but longer this time and with more emotion. Kara was proud to call Lena her wife, and wasn't afraid to show it. All the while, Nia sat in awe at the couple, the biggest smile creeping up on her face. Not only was Kara her amazing, talented and beautiful mentor, but she was also a representative of the LGBT community. The thought of that overflowed Nia with happiness, making her feel even more welcomed into her new work environment. From that, Nia knew that she was going to fit right in.
