Authors Note: 693 words of me being gay

You always had a close, sometimes playfully flirtatious relationship with Steve Rogers. You didn't want anything to come out of it, it was just some fun with a friend who made you feel good about yourself. You had your eyes on someone else, someone no one expected (unless if you read the title).

You were still laying in bed, texting your best friend, and woman of your dreams, Nat. It was around half past 8 and Nat was trying to get you to train with her. You knew better, the impending bruises not beneficial compared to seeing the way her hair flows and skin glistens as she trained. Besides, you already had plans with Steve.

After Nat let you know her disappointment in you already having plans, you reluctantly climb out of bed. You quickly pull on some black jeans and a simple (favorite color) tank top and put your (hair color) hair into a messy bun. Knowing Steve wouldn't arrive for a few more minutes you brew yourself an oversized mug of pure, black coffee.

Before long Steve was knocking on your front door, despite owning a key to your apartment. You quickly shuffle to the door, coffee still in hand. When you opened the door you found Tony standing beside Steve.

"Tony!" you exclaimed as you let the boys into your apartment. "I didn't expect to see you here."

"I'm not staying long. Just waiting for Nat to bring my food," Tony explained, pouring himself a mug of your coffee.

You nervously sipped your coffee, sitting next to Steve at your kitchen table. You gave a nervous glance at Steve, trying to tell him not to start a fight. That it was fine.

"Stark, what are you doing?" Steve asked, ignoring your glance.

"What does it look like I'm doing? What do you want me to do, pour it back in the pot," Tony sarcastically replied, his eyes warning Steve to not take it further.

"You could've at least asked the lady," Steve spoke calmly as he stood from his seat, attempting to scare Tony straight.

Tony mocked "are you sweet on her, Rogers?" as he got in Steve's face, setting his mug down.

You rushed between the two bickering children, resting your hand on Steve's chest. "Can you two stop this childish argument?"

A well-timed knock on the door diffused the argument. As you rushed to the door you silently hoped it was Natasha. Only a super hot, redhead, Russian assassin could make the boys in your kitchen end an argument before they kill each other.

Behind the door was your hope coming to fruition, wearing a green workout top to match her eyes.

"I've got Tony's food," she explained as she held up a paper bag.

"Good. You're here. Tony and Steve are fighting in the kitchen. For some reason, Steve got real heated when Tony started drinking some of my coffee," you explain in a rush as you push Nat in the direction of the kitchen.

"You do realize they're fighting about your relationship with Steve, right?" she replied.

"Wait, what? I mean we flirt a little, but there's no relationship to fight about," you frantically explain, the door to the kitchen closing in.

Nat stopped at the kitchen door and faced you. "I have a plan, but you're gonna have to kiss me." She continued when you gave her a dumbfounded look. "Look, it doesn't have to be like that. We just need them to know there is no relationship with Steve."

Next thing you know, Nat was pulling you into the kitchen as you hurriedly replied "What if I want it to be like that," before Steve or Tony could hear you.

Nat stopped you in your tracks, cupped your face within her free hand, and tenderly placed a kiss against your lips. The world stopped around you, Tony and Steve's voices fading off into the distance. When the kiss came to an end, you realized their voices had faded away, aghast at what they had witnessed.

Nat threw the paper bag at Tony before breaking the silence with "Sorry boys, but Y/N is taken."
