(No one's POV)
"Hey Nightmare? Do you ever wish you could've been born as someone else and see how different things would be? Do you wonder why people hate the night and the dark so much? Have you ever wished you never existed, because all you ever wanted was to enjoy others company, and yet all they ever did was hate you? " (Y/N) asked.

He was silent for a moment. They were on a green grassy field with a dead tree. His Dream world. In this Dream, the tree wasn't dead and nobody hated the night.

"All the time. You're the first one (y/n)  that ever really considered how I might feel and who was understanding to my situation. There are many different people in this world, but just because most don't appreciate the beauty of the night doesn't mean that everyone hates it. Maybe life is fine as long as you have one other person that appreciates it. Or maybe just a couple. You know, to this day Dream doesn't really understand me and for you, well you hid it within yourself for your sisters sake. I say that makes you pretty amazing, no matter what anyone else thinks. And I mean you have all of us at the castle now and maybe you'll have more. Maybe someday we'll both have more, more than we've just received. More than we've ever wished for. "

(Y/N) smiled at this as she looked up at him. "If that's the case I wish for someone to protect and cherish. Someone who will stay by my side and allow me to stay by theirs. That's all I want, and then maybe eventually I'll have more than one. Maybe it will all be fine. Maybe I can help you and your brother, for even if it doesn't seem that important, siblings are always someone you want to be on your side and got onto your level. You want them above everyone to understand. After all they're closer to your age and they're family. And everyone needs someone."

He looked at her as she spoke, seemingly looking up to the stars as if they'd answer her wishes and confirm what she says. She looked hopeful, but she also had so much sorrow and pain and it was as if she realized she couldn't push back a blizzard as easily as she thought. For even if it doesn't seem like it's there it will always be there, even if it's a small blizzard in a minimized space. She held her wishes to the stars of the night sky, hoping, begging for one to take them so they'd be known. He would do anything to make the stars in her eyes twinkle again. To make her eyes look like the stary night sky they were supposed to be. If he couldn't do anything else, he wanted to do that. That's all he asked for. That's all he inquired of those stars of his dreams that night and nothing could take that away from him. He no longer needed to question why he was alive or why he ever existed. There was no need.

So he looked up at that night sky with her, wondering just where life would take them. He wanted to show her everything get could, with whatever time he could. For now he'd probably just show her his favorite books and play the piano while she played the harp. He wanted to get to know this girl that was so similar to him. And that's exactly what he was going to do.
