When Farmer John noticed that Templeton was not eating, he encourage him to eat. "Come on Templeton, I won hurt you. I want to bring you to the Thanksgiving Fair. The fair has a Thanksgiving Turkey contest. I think you could win Templeton!" John coaxed."Did you hear what the farmer said?!" Gobbled Templeton as he frantically ran around in circles. "I don't want to die!" He yelled. "I'll be eaten for Thanksgiving!" The other turkeys ignored him.
Jombo made fun of the poor scared turkey. Betsy, a nice and pretty turkey, walked up to Templeton and tried to comfort him. Templeton was still sad.
Later that day, Templeton was taken away and placed into a small cage. "Guys?! Guys?! Help!!!" He yelled as the truck drove away.
Poor Templeton, he may become dinner.
"My last chance to say good bye! Good bye kind Betsy! Good bye to all!" He yelled. The last thing he saw was Jombo laughing. Betsy sadly watched as Templeton left the farm in the cage.When the truck finally stopped. There was a crowd of people. John gently picked up the cage and placed Templeton beside other turkeys. Some were frighted and others were proudly showing their feathers. "No! Don't eat me! I taste terrible! I taste like awful vegetables!" He cried.
When the judges neared Templeton, the poor bird noticed there was no sharp thingy around. Maybe Templeton will live. Finally, the town's Thanksgiving Turkey was chosen. "Don't pick me!" Templeton pleaded. "The winner is..." a fancily dressed guy announced, "John and his terrific turkey Templeton!"
"Nooooooo!" Screamed Templeton. Suddenly, the fancy guy placed a blue ribbon on Templeton's cage. John opened the cage and gave the turkey a big hug. "I always knew you were the best!" He declared. "You will never get eaten as long as you live on my farm." John said. When a gold medal was placed around Templeton's thin neck, he proudly fluffed his feathers. The crowd cheered.The end.
