Entry 3.
Dear Diary,
I think today was absolutely cray. (HA I'm in a rhymy mood today okay -heh-coincidence? I think not.)
The Stolls--Travis and Connor--had just arrived at Camp Half Blood. Horsing about they were, until they got serious about one thing.
The Ice Bucket Challenge.
Being gone from the mortal world left me inupdated. I had no clue whatsoever what the Ice Bucket Challenge was. I asked Art what it was a few days later, since I tried figuring it out on my own. The only data I got was that people poured a bucket of cold ice on their heads and nominate people. When I asked Art, he looked at me like I was crazy. "Annabeth, ever since the Stolls arrived, this has gone viral! You should know--Athena is our mother!" I raised my eyebrows at Art. It was a trick well learned---everyone in the cabin who sees me do that gets the implication--shut up and get to the knowledge.
Art, being the muscular, smart, annoying half brother, gave me a full out description. I'll tell you this. He took ten long minutes for it.
After he was finished, I raised my eyebrows. "So. Ice Bucket Challenge. Only a non-Athena kid would do it............so, were you nominated?"
He flushed. "Uhh..."
Malcolm, my other half-brother, apparently overheard our conversation. He burst into hysterical laughter. "Okay, you better see this-good luck with this, Art!" He turned up the built-in prism in the cabin and a rainbow shimmered brightly.
He rummaged around in his pockets, and found a golden drachma. "O Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering!"
He threw the drachma in the rainbow and it disappeared.
"Hephaestus TV-Art's Ice Bucket Challenge!" He said.
Art surged towards the rainbow, ready to swipe his hand through, only to be blocked by me. "Not until I watch it," I warned.
Art groaned and covered his face. I grinned and turned to the rainbow.
Art started making his "most heartfelt gratitude" to the people who nominated him---Travis Stoll, Jake Mason, and the new Apollo kid, Will Solace.
I exploded with laughter. "HAHAHAHA, three times nominated! Ooooh, Mom is so knowing about this!"
"No, no, no! Malcolm, stop it!"
Malcolm chuckled. "No can do, Art."
Art now nominated the following. "...I nominate Malcolm, Apollo-yes, you!-Luke Castellan, and Annabeth Chase! You have twenty four hours, good luck!"
I glared at him. "Art, did you just nominate ME, of all the people, to do the Ice Bucket Challenge?" This time it was his turn to laugh like a maniac.
I swatted him and turned my attention to the rainbow. Art had his arms around him already and his eyes screwed shut over his glasses. Apparently, the guy holding the gigantic blue bucket, had accidentally lost his grip on it and the water fell on him instead.
Art burst into non-existent laughter and the Iris Message was cut.
There was nothing I could do except hysterically hold my stomach and laugh like never before.
Okay, I'm gonna have to be back in a while. Time for my activities.
