Seirin's players came back in the evening, covered in dirt, exhausted. They took their showers and were moderately happy to see that Kise was with them. They ate and all went outside to get some fresh air and to rest under the stars.

Kaijou's ace knew how lighten the mood and soon, all were laughing together without doubting that many kilometers away, Tetsuya Kuroko just jumped right in front of a bus.

----------

Kuroko and Aomine were calmly walking in the streets of their host town.

Their awakening went marvelously well.

The first time, in the evening, Kuroko was face to face with Aomine, fully awake, but he did not seem bothered. He got closer to his heating pad, he clung to Daiki and fell asleep again. Aomine had contemplated his former shadow for an hour, realising how good he was feeling. He fell back asleep for the night and the next day, he had gently woken Tetsuya up by petting his hair. Then they took their breakfast, talking happily, took their shower and left to go to their appointment.

The city was huge, normally Kuroko would easily get lost, but right now, he was feeling good, next to Aomine. They had a meeting with one of Kuroko's friend who might not manage to help him but truth is, he only wanted to see him. That person was not from the Generation of Miracles, far from it, but was excelling in every bases of the game. Anyway. Aomine was curious to see who that person was, Kuroko had told him that in the second hotel, they were going to share their but he didn't know who he was.

Tetsuya looked at the tall buildings above him which were shining with their glasses windows. He founded that impressive and it was. People were hurrying in the streets, some running to go to work, others wandering around. The traffic wasn't that dense, he didn't know why, he always thought that the road were always congested or full of traffic jams where the drivers would be loudly honking. But now, it was okay. They were people, true, but it was flowing.

Suddenly, he saw an old woman cross, really slowly, lost in her thoughts. She hadn't verified if the road was clear. He then saw a bus coming from a corner, out of sight from the grandma. His eyes widened. Aomine saw her too and paled. She was going to get crushed. They were way, way too far away. It was impossible for someone to cross this distance in this short amount of time.

Even for a genius like Aomine.

The driver, panicked, surely had a brake issue, he was not slowing down, on the contrary. He was making big gestures and was blowing his horn to warn everyone but the old person saw him at the last minute. Like in those movies, she stayed frozen, watching the bus charging on her.
Kuroko felt himself move before even thinking about it. He narrowed his eyes and a black light quickly light them as he was dropping his heavy bag and he sprang to the stranger. He mentally confirmed the brake issue, the screeching noise he was hearing giving him that information.

Two seconds before the impact. He stretched his arms, catching the grandma.

One second. He took a step forward, propelling himself as far away as possible and a scream reached his ears. It was not his nor the grandma's that he was holding.
