I pulled into the parking lot of the crime lab and found parking. I got out of my car and made sure I had my kit with me.

I walked in and up to the reception desk. They gave me my ID and pointed me toward my supervisor's office. I walked down the hall until I got to his office.

"Hello?" I asked as I opened the door and walked in.

"Oh. My God" I said as I saw many different things in jars.

I began looking around. The office was gross and cool at the same time.

"Hi" said someone behind me as I jumped and turned around.

"Sorry. Welcome to Forensics. Gil Grissom. I'm your supervisor on Graveyard" said a man as I placed my hand over my heart.

"Melanie Grace. Nice office" I said as I shook his hand.

"Thanks. Would you mind taking off your jacket and rolling up your sleeve?" asked Grissom.

"For what?" I asked confused.

"I need a pint of your blood. It's customary for all new hires" said Grissom.

"Why?" I asked.

"So many reasons" said Grissom as he smiled.

"I haven't even clocked in yet" I said as I took off my jacket and rolled up my sleeve on my left arm and watched Grissom as he took my blood.

"We scrutinize the crime scene, collect evidence, recreate what happened, without ever having been there. Pretty cool, actually" said Grissom as he put my blood in a fridge as I was trying to stop the bleeding.

"I've always wanted to do this since I was 8

"I've always wanted to do this since I was 8. I went through the academy back in LA so I already know this" I said.

"Of course you do. Then if you'll just sign these waivers for personal injury or death while in the line of duty, we can begin our shift" said Grissom as he passed me a clipboard with papers.
