Let's Have Another

Naruto tucks in his two children. "Goodnight, Mama," they say together. He kisses their foreheads. 

"Goodnight my dears," he says. He walks out of the twins' new room and shuts the door. Shikamaru is there leaning against the wall. "Oh, hello." Naruto smiles and kisses the Nara softly.

Shikamaru holds the blond closely and kisses him back. He rubs the blond's back. "You are a natural," he mutters. Look at the door. "I'm afraid I will never be the perfect father for them," he says sadly.

Naruto places a hand on his cheek. "Nonsense, Shika-kun. You will be great," he says. 

Shikamaru shakes his head. "No, you don't understand. I missed out on three years of their lives. They just know that I'm their father. They didn't grow up loving me. I'm just a stranger," he says. 

The Uzumaki sighs sadly. "They love you, and they feel a connection with you," he says softly. He sees that what he had said had no effect on the boy. "Let's have another," Naruto says confidently. 

Shikamaru blinks. "Another what?"

The blond giggles. "Another baby."
