Chapter Two: The Challenge

Fluttershy nudged Rainbow gently and laughed. "That's not funny! I was only a filly!" Fluttershy said through her giggles. A few days had past after the incident and Fluttershy was feeling a lot better now.

"Exactly! That's the whole point!" Rainbow Dash sneered and head butted her playfully on the shoulder. Fluttershy smirked and shook her head

"So wanna have a flying contest?* Fluttershy said with challenge glistering in her eyes.

Rainbow Dash stared at her for a moment then burst out laughing as if it were the same day when she first met Twilight. "You have a flying contest?! With me!!?* Rainbow Dash said through her laughs.

Fluttershy narrowed her eyes "Well if your scared then I understand" Fluttershy said raising her chin high trying to act tough. She knows that she might not win this competition but she still wants to try and prove herself to Rainbow Dash and show off what she can do.

Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow "Okay Flutters, your on." Rainbow Dash challenged getting in ready stance. Fluttershy got in a ready stance, She flapped her wings open. Her every Instinct was telling her not to do this but she wanted to prove to Rainbow Dash that she was as twice as a good flyer as she is.

"We go on 3" Rainbow said in almost a whisper. "1...". "2..." Rainbow Dash spread her wings out. "3!" Rainbow Dash sprung up and flew rapidly fast. Fluttershy sprang into the air and flew as fast as her wings could fly her.

The crisp sunlight shined brightly as they both flapped in the air. Rainbow Dash glanced at Fluttershy which was 12 feet behind her. Rainbow Dash chuckled and slowed her pace a little bit for her. Fluttershy could tell what she was doing and did not let that get her. Fluttershy starts going at a blistering pace like a lightning bolt in the sky, passing Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dashes jaw dropped in surprise and she knew it was time to get serious. She then starts flying at a firm pace getting close to Fluttershy.

They soon met each other flying side by side. Fluttershy's eyes gleamed with determination.

Rainbow looked over at her, The sunlight hit Fluttershys coat which shined in the sun while her hair gracefully flowed in the crisp breeze with her bright green eyes glittering in the sunlight.

Rainbow Dash felt her cheeks get red and she soon realized that she was aiming right for a tree and crashed right into it landing face first on the green grass.

Fluttershy froze and gasped. She flew down to Rainbow with widen eyes. " Oh dear! Rainbow Dash are you ok?!" Fluttershy cried.

Rainbow Dash got up and rubbed her head "I-I'm fine" She stuttered and looked at Fluttershy. "You were amazing! I've never seen you ever fly like that before" Rainbow Dash grinned.

Fluttershy felt her cheeks get hot "Y-You really think so?" Fluttershy shifted her hooves shyly. "Of course! You did great!" Rainbow said nudging her friend gently.

"Well I-" she broke off as she heard a loud yelling from the corner of her eye. Fluttershy lowered her head as she saw who it was. It was Mary.
