Chapter 9: A Combination Of Powers~

When we got to my house, the front door opened and my grandma stood there, a look of worry on her face. She ran over to me and said "Lydia my love, you scared me to death!" She hugged me and said "I thought something terrible happened to you, my Moon Child...I thought I lost you like I lost your mother." Tears formed in my eyes, but I kept them back and hugged her.

I said "I'm fine, Gran...I was just with some friends." She looked at everyone and she said "You are all children of the dark...Why are they here, Lydia?" I furrowed my eyebrows and asked "Gran...H-How do you?.." I trailed off. She gave me a look that asked 'Really?' I nodded and Mike said "Ma'am...Lydia is in danger...Satan is coming after her...He wants to make her his bride." Her jaw dropped and she covered it with her mouth. Ashley said "We want to protect her...She tells us you are a Witch."

She nodded and said "I am..But I do not dwindle with the powers of the dark." Mike said "I understand, ma'am...I'm in love with your granddaughter...and all we want is to keep her safe." She looked at me and said "You know nothing about her, how are you in love with her?" Mike looked at me and said "Her name is Lydia Selena Aaron. Her birthday is September 14th. Her favorite animal is a deer because it represents who she is. Gentle, strong, a lover of peace, and has a positive outlook on life, despite all he sadness brought into her life. Her favorite color is Aqua, because it how's she's healing emotionally and finds protection in herself and the magic you perform. Her favorite music is Baroque because it comforts her and helps her heal."

Her eyes widened and I fought back a smile. Mike gently took my hand in his and said "I am in love with Lydia...I don't want anything bad o happen to her...Please...Help us protect her." Grandma looked at me with tears in her eyes.

She said "She's all I have left...After her mother died, I was terrified I was gonna lose her...Come on in, kids." They nodded and we walked inside. Grandma closed the door behind us and asked "Can I borrow Lydia for a moment, umm.." She trailed off, looking at Mike. He said "Mike, ma'am. And go ahead." She nodded and brought me into the kitchen.

She turned to me and asked "How long as he..How does he know you?" I sighed and looked down at my feet. I said "When I was six...I met him in the forest past the meadow..I asked of I can go play and I heard his voice in my head..He told me to go in the forest. I saw him there and he told me he was my protector. He's watched over my for twelve years, Gran. You know the nightmares I have?" She nodded and I said "Well, he was he reason for them. But he wasn't trying to scare me, he was warning me...Because Satan wants me either dead or to have me as his bride...They're demons, Gran. But they would meet hurt me...There's something else to, you should know."

She put her hand on my shoulder and said "What is it, dear?" I sighed and said "Mike he...He was assigned to kill me...When we first met in the forest, Satan ordered him to kill me , but he refused to because he loved me...He was an Angel of death who killed children and brought their souls into Hell." She gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. I said "But I love him, gran...He means every thing to me, and I don't want to lose him." A tear rolled down my cheek and she wiped it away. She hugged me and said "Don't cry my child...We'll get through this together. Darkness and light...Two forces I never thought would come together."

I smiled and we pulled away from the hug. We walked back in the living room and saw everyone sitting down. Mike looked up at us and stood up. His eyes bored into mine and I said "She's agreed to help us...We'll be okay, Mike." He smiled and hugged me. Grandma pointed at him and said "You be good to her young man...I may be getting older, but this aging body is a force to be reckoned with." Everyone laughed and Mike said "I promise I will never hurt her, ma'am." She smiled and said "Please, call me Ann." He smiled and I laid my his chest. I asked "What happens now?"

He kissed the top of my head and said "We stay here, always keep an eye on you, and when you sleep, have someone in there keeping guard...We'll work shifts. When night falls, we'll have three outside on guard, and the rest in here watching over you and Ann." I nodded and Ricky asked "Who will take first shifts tonight?" Mike said "Ashley, Michael, and Ricky on the outside, and Chris, Fran, and I in here. We'll change shifts every three hours."

They nodded and Fran said "We should get our stuff from the house." I asked "What house?" Chris said "We all love together in a house outside of town. A few of us should go and pack up clothes and whatever else we think we can use to protect this place." They nodded and Mike said "Chris, Fran, and Ricky, go to the house and pack. Be back as soon as possible. The suns going down in a couple hours." He pulled out a set of keys and tossed them to Ricky. Chris said "We'll be back." And they left.

I sighed into Mike's chest and he asked "What's wrong?" I nuzzled my face into his neck and said "I just want this to be over...I don't want to be scared of him anymore." He sighed and said "Me too...I just wanna be with you without worrying about that son of a bitch trying to take you from me." I smiled into guns neck and pressed my lips to the crook of his neck. I looked up at him and said "I love you." He pressed his lips to mine and said "I love you too..I'm not gonna let him touch you." I smiled and this time, I kissed him. But in the back of my mind, I was scared to death.
