"I'm sorry that I'm late," Someone says and we all look up from our books.
It was a girl that I've never seen before so I'm guessing that she is a newbie. "Alyssa. So glad that you'll be joining us starting from today." Miss Wendy says as she signs her late slip.
"Who is she?" Zach asks beside me. He is my friend and seat-mate, also known as an annoying asshole too. "I'm guessing 'Alyssa'." I answer with a hint of sass. "A new student here?" He asks again.
No shit, I thought in my head.
"Yes." I grit my teeth, resisting the urge to give a comeback and punch him in the fucking face.
Before he can ask more stupid questions, the teacher instructs Alyssa to sit next to me. "Damn, you got the newbie next to you," Zach states as he grins at me. "Shut the fuck up or I'll shove a knife into your trachea." I give him a look and he fake gasps as he touches his neck.
"You wouldn't." He challenges.
"Oh I sure as hell will." I fire back when suddenly, I hear Alyssa says something next to me.
"Excuse me, what book should I take out for this class?" She asks. She has a posh British accent which is kinda hilarious, making it impossible for me and Zach to hold our laughters. "Well, as you can see, there are algebraic equations on the board so it's safe to say that you should take out your Maths book," I utter.
Wow, a great way to make her feel welcome, Par.
She glances at me for awhile before taking out her Maths book.
"That was rude," Zach says after he jabs me with his elbow. "Well I'm sorry that you had to put me into a pissed mood." I roll my eyes. He points at himself and gives me a look, trying to say what-did-I-do-now?
All of a sudden, the class is silent and everyone is looking at me and Zach, including the teacher.
"Do you want to tell the whole class how exactly did Mr. Johnson put you into a pissed mood, Miss Newman?" The teacher asks with her arms crossed in front of her chest, not impressed with the fact that we are interrupting her class.
I shake my head and push my glasses higher. "I don't think that is necessary, Miss Wendy." I give her an apologetic smile.
I can see her mumbling about something then she continues to teach class. "Whew, that was a close one, ain't it?" Zach chuckles as he wipes off imaginary sweats from his forehead. I roll my eyes and hit his stomach. He winces in pain. "What the hell was that for?" He asks while rubbing his stomach. I shrug. "Simply," I claim and we continue studying.
"Psst." I hear someone whisper but I ignore it as I continue writing my notes.
"Par." The person whispers again but I continue ignoring the person.
"Yo, Paradice!" Then, a paper ball hit the side of my head. I see Alyssa giggle in the corner of my eye and I turn to see who threw it.
I see my best friend sticking her tongue out at me and I just give her my middle finger for ruining my concentration. She rolls her eyes and mouths the words 'look at the paper'.
I take the paper which was on the ground and open it.
How does sitting with the newbie feel like? - R
I laugh to myself and write back: Idk man. We haven't even formally talk yet soooo - P
I throw the paper at Ray and she opens it. I see her writing a few words before tossing it back at me.
