"we don't talk anymore like we used to do."

Summer POV

It was confusing. Outside of dance, we can't even say anything to each other or just talk.. but during rehearsal, all that was gone. I trusted him, he trusted me. Trust. I guess that is what's holding us together in dance.

In the contemporary, we had a few lifts and tricks but it had to be perfect. It contributed to our performance and how we showcased it. There was this one part where he had to toss me in the air then catch me. Is he strong enough? This could go one of two ways and I don't really want the bad ending.

"Do you trust me enough for this?" he asked.
"Unfortunately..I do." Okay so I admitted that.
"Ok, just trust me. I will do everything I can to make sure I don't drop you. I promise." I was speechless.

What more did I have to say. I nodded and he got ready. I was nervous but this will take our dancing to the next level. Senior division, whole new level.

This was it. I was in his arms and he launched me into the air and I twisted then fell back into his arms. He caught me perfectly.

Everyone looked at us in shock as he put me down. Not one person in the room missed that. Even I couldn't get over what just happened. "I guess we did it." He was grinning, he hasn't smiled like that in a while. I felt a smile form upon my face as I said "Yeah, I guess we did." I guess it's not all over around all. Still wishing I had the duet with him though. Oh well, we can't get everything we want in life and we should accept that openly.

Kingston was wanting to do that too. Davis didn't seem to worry that much and actually seemed more excited. Me and Noah got some mats just in case it went wrong. Oh it can go wrong, trust me. They did it, but it lacked the smooth run through within.

So they did it a couple more times and did it perfectly! I know this dance will be great!

As rehearsal had ended, I was just going over my regionals solo. If Lilly beat me at the points battle, it means my dance needed work. I went over it, cleaned it up and chose a theme for it. This has to be original, chilling and amazing. I had a lot to live up to. Not Lilly, just her mom's cheating tactics. Yep you heard me correct, she cheats.

I just think it's better to win fairly. Hard work and talent are one thing but courage and faith is behind all of that, the heart.

This solo was important. I had to make sure I knew what I was doing and made 0 mistakes. I decided to dance to 'None of Your Business' by Chelsea Collins. I know maybe I go overboard with how much rehearsal I do, but this is crucial. The studio closes at 9pm. And it's four hours till then. I wasn't worried anymore. Personal lives, dance lives - two different stories within a person.

After my solo was run through, I moved onto the hip-hop choreography again. This had to be flashy, quick, powerful and intense. I worked my hardest and made sure I was moving quickly yet smoothly as a good dance needs both fused together. Just as I did a walkover, I noticed Noah had been watching me. Didn't expect that either.

"Nice moves! I see you've been working hard!"

"Yeah, just making sure I have it 1000% ready for Regionals!"

"Great! Mind if I join you? I admire how focused you are and I was hoping you could practise with me."

"Sure. I'm going over the hip-hop choreo at the moment!"

We worked on the choreography to the hip-hop dance and it went well. We worked together nicely and it wasn't bad. He's basically the best/most experienced dancer on this team, but honestly, this is just us practising together. "What comes after the tutting?" "The boys do backflips and the girls do front walkovers." This hasn't felt so.. connected in a while, it was going to take some getting used to but it reminded me of how we used to practise together when nobody knew my name. Like old times.

Knowing he doesn't hate me was a relief. I didn't mean to insult him.. I just don't want him to make the wrong decisions and cost himself and the team. I know he likes Richelle but that doesn't mean we can't be friends. Yep, friends. We talked and went over choreography for all the dances we were both in. Lets just say it's a lot of dances, plus we both have a solo to focus on too. Great. Being featured is a gateway to being noticed by dance critics and different studios all around. "We should go now, it's getting late." Oh yes. We had been practising for so many hours I didn't even realise the time.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow - early  at rehearsal."

"Okay. Early. Got it. See ya Summer!"

And with that, we both packed up our stuff and walked out the building till we parted, going down opposite ways. What a day.
