A/N:

Now I'll just throw in some Dystopian Future, sprinkle some sci-fi, and DONE!

I reached for his hand and decided not to let go until he had heard it all. I couldn't remember exactly what it said, but I knew that they were my deepest, most desperate thoughts. He closed his eyes as I stood by him, staring anxiously. One solitary tear streamed down his cheek. He turned towards me, he wrapped his arm around my shoulder, he rested his chin on the top of my head, he was considerably taller than I was. My eyes watered, I knew this wouldn't last long... I was right, his arm dropped, he pulled back, his eyes wide. I let go of his hand, it fell to his side. I looked up into his eyes, they were full of... what's the word... Fear. The look which told me what I already knew. I'm a monster! I felt that fear at night when I tried to sleep, it crept into my dreams, like it was scurrying around my head, running.

I heard the familiar chiming in my ear, the one that told us our after school social time was up, the one that told me that I needed to go home. I subconsciously wiped my cheeks dry of the tears that I hadn't realized were flowing. I continued down the path that we had been standing on, blocking traffic. Kason stood there, frozen. After I was a good distance away, I heard his familiar voice yelling Sam. I didn't turn around, instead, I walked faster, I couldn't bare to see that expression again, not on him.

I walked up my street, my house was at the top, it was just like everybody else's, large and empty. Every teenager lived on their own premises, that's what you got on your 13th birthday, you needed to learn to be on our own. After all of their children turned 13, parents were set to leave. I was 16, I had a sister who was 14, my brother was 23, therefore, my parents were gone, The Administration never tells us where they are going, they're just sent away...

I had been alone for three year, no contact with your previous family members is permitted. Only at community meetings, and even then, you don't have much time with them because you are told to make sure to socialize with everyone.
