Lyon and The Planets.

slight tears, rimmed around the oval-shape of her eyes, as they parted ways. only briefly, not permanently. had to keep that in mind. sun reflecting in the liquid, crystal-blue hue of their glassy surface; big lashes, blinking it all back, soft hands holding onto his arms as if he were to break into pieces; vanish into thin air.

the possibility was there.

baekhyun had to remember that, keep that in mind, also.

the greyish backdrop of structured buildings had been punctured and fragmented by the slight shimmer of summer, cracking through, separating the density of gathered clouds. the splintered rays shattered across the bleak outlook, overpowering the grey and dimness.

optimistic.

roma had had her back to all of it, while baekhyun observed, orbs scanning, controlling the surrounding environment. switched directions; sun rays slanted, and he revelled in the sensation. of regaining that feeling, once again.

her eyes had followed his vision, only to be met with a similarly calm realisation. the sun was in the sky: hiding, and discrete, but there. and roma had to remember that.

she'd turned back, tears ever-present and lips pursed, but he could tell she understood. and for that, he was eternally grateful.

felt his heart beating.

arms around her, one last time before they would both have to go. a soft and deep kiss exchanged. hugged her to him so tightly that the yellow shine visible in their periphery dipped ever-so slightly, disappearing and then reappearing. back to its equilibrium. everything was okay.

her figure had dissipated slowly, looking back at him every now and then, as she melted into the crowds of other hundreds of people and students. approaching a new life for herself. or, rather, just a new chapter. one that was filled with more permanence and sunshine. baekhyun promised her that.

watched her until she was gone.

returned to lyon.

baekhyun could feel those same pulsations, as he traced over his steps, along the same cobbled path that led to the town centre. sun heavy and prominent on his back, as he was mindful of not stepping on the cracks; steps cautious, mediated, as if he were aware.

inundation of clouded memories.

first meetings; soft hands and shaking tones and helping him get back on his feet and everything else in between then and now.

he felt the electricity dancing around him, even now. but it was comfortable. a blink of his eye or a turn of his head and it was submerged into a mellower condition; golden sparks, surrounding his periphery, flashing softly to the beat of his thumping heart. in control.

that was easy to lose.

the sky dipped.

shattered the spectrum of light; across its turquoise expanse, creating darkened shadows onto the cracked pavement as he climbed the steps, slowly, up the apartment.

met with a mess of everything, littering the floor. broken furniture, window wide open, curtains flung over the panes.

the balcony felt fragile as he made his way over the scattered area, a full ashtray and empty coffee cups balanced on the edge, dark stains rimming the white. sun overpowered. eyes squinted, felt his heart, kicking the chair out of the way.

had to think: the next element.

brought his hand up, to create shade for his eyes. spread his fingers out, palms facing the humid air and tranquil sky. peace disrupted, as he splayed his hand further, parting the blue as if it were a curtain shielding the brightness from him. a veil that belonged to him. over-hanging, shadows dancing across the tops of buildings and through the bustling streets.
