Jimin sat on the lawn of his school, waiting to be picked up. He played with a blade of grass between his fingers and sighed as he put another apple slice from his lunchbox into his mouth. The sky was turning orange, the clouds her a shade of purple and everyone in school had gone home.
He laid back on the grass and looked up at the fluffy clouds pass by. His eyes sparkling as he saw the first star in the sky. He made a wish on his knees and smiled at himself.
When he opened his eyes, the sky was turning navy blue. A few more stars appearing. Jimin grabbed his bag and hugged it as he sat.
Later, he started hearing footsteps. He grew uneasy. He didn't want to look back. He was too scared to.
"Hello?"
Jimin whipped his head around and screamed, but quickly calmed down after he saw what it was that spoke.
A little girl.
She had on a flowery sundress and some sandals. Her hair was down to her mid back and was black. Her dark brown eyes sparkled in the moonlight. Her smile was small, but comforting. She was probably a year or two older than Jimin.
Jimin blushed at the sight. 'She's pretty.' He thought to himself.
The girl walked over and sat next to him "Hello there." She smiled at him.
"H-hi," Jimin stutters "Do you... study here?"
The girl nodded "used to. I don't anymore."
"Why not? Did you move schools?"
The girl looks forward. Her hair glistening in the moonlight. "...I don't know"
Jimin furrowed his eyebrows a little before nodding.
His watch read 8.37pm and he was still chatting with the girl. He was laughing and smiling along with her as the exchanged stories between one another. Jimin felt comfortable around her. Their laughing and the crickets were all they could hear.
Their laughing died down as they laid on the grass. The stars were all out and twinkling above them. The girl held Jimin's hand. "Have you ever wondered... what will happen before you grow up?"
Jimin turned his head to look at her "Yeah. I'd be with my seven best friends. Probably doing random things like riding bikes, eating and playing with my cat Nyan." He smiled gently "Why?"
The girl continued looking at the sky. "No reason."
Jimin nods "Noona?"
"Hm?"
Jimin hesitates a little "When will i see you a-"
HONK
A car had pulled up and the window went down "Jiminie, c'mon let's go, honey." Jimin's mother called.
Jimin looked at the girl "What's your name?"
The girl sat up and smiled "Min Jae."
Jimin smiled back. "I'm Jimin."
The girl chuckled "I know."
Jimin grabs his bag and jogs to the car "See you soon Noona!"
Min Jae waved "Bye Bye!"
When Jimin got in the car, his mom turned around to face him with a smile "Who were you talking to, Chim?"
"My friend , Min Jae. She's a girl. She was sitting with me to keep me company."
"That's weird..." his mom pulls a confused face and looks back out the window to where they were sitting.
"What do you mean, eomma?"
His mom started the engine and drove away from the school. "No one was there with you."
Jimin had a confused face "What do you mean?"
"You were talking to yourself, baby boy."
