Paris, the city of love.

it was the only way, he couldn't let joonie live in that house anymore, the way they treated the poor hybrid.

bruised and bloodied, is how jungkook found him. he could hardly speak, that was  how bad they had beat him.

the hospital was saying that they had to turn ‘joon’ back to his owner, “we can't keep him without their consent.”, they said. “we'll report it immediately, don't worry.”

a small weight on his shoulder snapped him out of his thoughts, the other's tail gently brushing against his leg.

“so cute.” the older rubbed in between his caramel colored ears, a low vibrational sound coming out of his throat.

“aw, he's purring.” the sound got louder, the younger's eyes fluttering open lazily.

“kookie.” he said softly, and if the other had blinked, he would of missed it.

“you remembered.”

“where are we?” the hybrid rubbed his eyes with a sweater paw and yawned the most adorable yawn ggukie had ever heard.

“somewhere special.”

his eyes widened, “w-what if da-daddy finds out-” tears welled up

“he's not here anymore. don't worry, you're safe now.” he smothered the sobbing boy in a hug, almost protecting him from the troubles he'd had gone through.

namjoon's breath hitched, the comfortable sound of the older's beating heart making him cry even more.

“s-safe?” he hiccupped.

“safe.”

both of them stayed like that for a while, not caring that the sun was setting when they were done.

“safe please.” were the hybrid's words before buring his head in the crook of the other's neck.

and at that very moment, kookie swore that he would protect him, no matter what happens.
