Chapter 6: The Aftershock

*Simon's POV*

I wake up in the hospital. Frankie is in the bed next to me, but she isn't conscious yet. A nurse comes in. "Excuse me," I say. "What happened?"

"There was an explosion at the restaurant you two were at." she replies.

Oh my god.

"Is she ok?" I ask, panicking. I sit up quickly. "She will be fine," the nurse says. "She might have to go into surgery though. There is a severe break in her arm."

I put my head in my hands. Once again, I have fucked up. And this time, the one I love most was affected. I can't ever let this happen again.

I'll never let her out of my sight.

*Francesca's POV*

I wake up, dazed, confused, and groggy.

I look around. It looks like I'm in a hospital room. And I'm the one in the bed.

There is an oxygen tube in my nose, and an IV on the back of my hand. What happened to me? It's like the past few hours is a gap in time.

My phone is on the night stand. I'm not sure how they changed my clothes... That's a creepy thought.

A nurse comes in. "Good morning, sleeping beauty," she says. "What happened?" I ask. "There was an explosion at the restaurant." she replies.

"Is Simon ok?" I ask. "Mr. Grey? Oh, yes, he's fine." A large weight is lifted off my shoulders.

"Ms. Russel, I'm afraid you have to undergo surgery on your arm. It was shattered in the explosion. Is that ok?"

"I guess so... There's no risk, is there?"

"There's only a 30% risk."

"I'll take those odds."

Simon walks in. He runs over to me and hugs me. "How are you feeling?" "Great, if I ignore the throbbing pain in my arm,"

"When will the surgery be?" I ask the nurse. "20 minutes," she replies. I look up at Simon. "I love you, Frankie." he says. "I love you too, Simon."

I think I'm starting to like being called Frankie.

20 minutes pass, and the doctors come in. Simon stands next to me and holds my hand.

They put anesthesia in my IV. I watch it go through the tube. My body slowly goes numb, and my vision is starting to get blurry.

My mind gets fuzzy.

Soon, I'm asleep.

A few hours later, my eyes slowly open. I'm so tired, I feel like I'm still sleeping.

Simon's face fills my vision. "How was it?" he asks. "It was fun," I reply. "It was rainbows and butterflies."

Simon laughs. "Why are you laughing?" I ask. I try to touch my face, but I don't feel my right hand. "Why is there a marshmallow on my hand?" I ask.

"Can I eat it?"

"No," Simon laughs. "Stop laughing at me."

Simon turns on the TV. I wave to the little people inside of it. Simon laughs again. I get really dizzy and fall asleep again.

Hey guys! That was Chapter 6! I hope you enjoyed it! Please comment, vote, and subscribe.

By the way, this chapter was inspired by my own surgery experience. I got oral surgery two weeks ago. I know I probably shouldn't say this, but the drug was really nice.

It made me feel really funny. It was weird. I liked it.
