(Queen Kayla to side)
Chapter 6
3 days. I've been here for 3 days. Everyday is the same. I wake up in my jail cell, I get brought before the queen, grilled for information that I don't have, and then beaten, interrogated, and beaten some more by Major Krieg (who was quickly becoming my least favorite person). I pass out from the intensity of the pain and wake up in my jail cell once more.
I woke up in my jail cell on the morning of the fourth day. I had come up with a tactic the night before. A few minutes later, a younger guard came to get me. He took me to the throne room. The queen swam up to me. "Feel like telling us anything today?"
I raised my head defiantly. "Nope."
The queen gave a flick of her wrist. "Major Krieg, then."
I trembled (part of my act, don't worry). The queen saw it and smirked. "Looks like the princess is actually scared of someone here."
The guards took me to the interrogation room and sat me in the seat. They left as Major Krieg swooped in. "Are you goink to give me information today?"
"N-no." I stuttered, purposely. But he didn't know that. Like the queen, he smirked.
"Vere is Aquaratis?"
"I don't know," I said, too quickly. He picked up his tazer-like weapon, that electrocuted me whenever he wanted it to, and I whimpered. He brought it closer to me, and I let out a little sob. "Please! Stop! I'll tell you!"
He raised an eyebrow, pleased with this new information. "You vill?"
"Yes. Aquaratis is located in the Pacific Ocean. Go about an hour diagonally from Encinitas, California and you will be at the entrance." I lied. I sure hoped that I was wrong and it was no where near there.
Krieg motioned to one of the guards. "Are you vritink zis down?" The guard immediately pulled out a piece of seaweed parchment and a octopus ink pen and started writing the directions. "Hov many people are in your army?"
I feigned nonchalance. "Not many. Less than a hundred. And they aren't very well trained. They are all clumsy and look like they've never seen a battle in their lives!" I hoped they were well trained and many in number.
"And hov do I know zat you aren't lyink?"
"Do you really think I'd lie with all these weapons around me?"
He seemed to see my point and nodded. "I vill go tell zee queen. Johnson, you go take zee princess to her cell."
Johnson, the young guard that took me to the queen this morning, swam up and took my arm. We swam to my cell. I went and layed down on the hard bed. I feel asleep almost instantly.

I awoke to something hitting me. I quietly sat up and saw a dark figure in front of my cell.
"Yes?" I whispered. I had a feeling the person was not supposed to be here.
"Kaitlyn?" a strangely familiar voice whispered back.
"Lucas!" I whisper-shouted, "What are you doing here?" I swam up to the bars of my cell.
"Coming to rescue you, of course," came his reply.
"Why?" I asked. "Why would you swim all this way to save me?"
He looked me straight in the eyes. "I would swim a thousand miles for you, Kaitlyn."
I blushed and felt a bubble of warmth form inside of me. I need to admit something. I had a slight crush on Lucas, and although it was a betrothal, I wasn't complaining that I was marrying him. And what he said stirred up even more feelings for him.
His eyes widened and quickly said, "I mean, you are the princess and all! I have to rescue you. Even if it involves swimming a thousand miles."
Suffice it to say, the bubble burst. Of course. He would never like me. I was just his duty. I internally sighed. I gave a forced laugh. "Good, that's what I thought you meant."
He nodded. There was an awkward silence. He broke it by saying, "So let's get you out of here! Where are the keys?"
"I don't know, but where is the guard that is usually here?"
Lucas pointed to the floor. I saw a dark figure in a ball. "Oh. Well they should be on him."
Lucas bent down and felt for the keys. He raised them, victorious. He unlocked the door, and I swam out. "Okay, we have to be very quiet. I knocked out most of the guards, but they won't stay that way for long," he said as we started swimming out of the castle. He handed me a knife, just in case.
I nodded. We were quiet as mice as we swam out. It seemed to easy to be true. We hadn't been stopped by anyone yet. Come to think of it, we hadn't seen anyone. We kept swimming when I heard a noise and turned around. Lucas noticed that I had stopped and turned around as well. There was nothing there. Then, a cruel and overly familiar voice from behind me said, "Going somewhere, princess?"
