Joshua's Point of View

I'm quite worried. It has been 30 minutes since I called Jeonghan.

The class is about to start any minute now but the seat behind me is still left unoccupied. I'm somewhat his personal talking reminder whenever he forgets to attend the class we have in common. I breathed a little and positioned myself in a comfortable manner.

My seat is located on the right side of the lecture hall in the back, almost hanging out by the door as if some sort of rebel. I don't usually see the writings on the board clearly. Nonetheless, the catch is, I get the bonus of seeing people who's about to be late for their next subject. Sometimes its laughable especially when I see my friends constantly running for their lives, holding in their hand a piece of a crumpled printed report.

Well, sometimes...

it is just heartbreaking.

It can't be helped whenever I often see from this angle, how lovers would hold hands and interact. Even though they'll be approaching their doom getting a remark of absence for their next class, most of them would walk as if its already the red carpet on their wedding day. They would paint a smile while intertwining their hands with no rush, taking their time enjoying the extra minutes before officially getting a remark of "tardy".

The school bell started to ring as if an alarm to proceed to our respective classes. Jeonghan isn't arriving yet. I am quite worried. He can't afford to be late again in this class. Its just an extra course but based from how we met, he's definitely rooting for Latin honors.

"Okay, class. We'd be continuing our discussion on history. Take note, we are now almost finished." I let out a sigh. The professor already arrived. "We'll be discussing Japanese colonial rule from 1910-1945. Am I correct?" Soon enough,  his inquiries would lead to calling the attention of his students while unconsciously biting the opposite side of his pen's tip. Jeonghan should be here any minute now.

"Hong! Is there a Hong in this class?"

I raised my hand (and my voice) as soon as I heard my surname. I enthusiastically answered back awhile still eyeing at the door whether I'll see someone running around with his handbag.

I began to flip my notes nervously my note's gone a little blurry from every ounce of sweat coming out from my palms. "Kim? Is someone a Kim in here. How about a Lee? Oh, there is one." Another peep and finally, he came just in time for the attendance. I was about to stand up and embrace him by the door but I found a good-looking minion from behind, running with him as well. They were exchanging smiles while running for their next classes which I believe is on the same floor.

I don't really know why I was itching to go out and snatch Jeonghan away. He looks happy. He was in all smiles as if he's on Cloud 9. I tapped my finger for five times and heard the professor mouthing the surname "Yoon". He barely made it, breathing heavily beside me as he found the seat vacant. I offered him a water bottle to ease his breathing only to be outdone by this minion of his. He threw one by the door, not minding the presence of a faculty member inside the room.

"Thanks, Cheol! See you later after class!"

Jeonghan was smiling from ear to ear. I decided to stare at his eyes while he gulps loudly. Liquid dipped from the bottle making his neck and collar soaked in mineral water. He didn't worry that much seeing he is even holding the bottle with so much care.

It was just plastic. But, it was something genuine.

Its harmless. But it is harmful for my heart.

Its nothing but something Seungcheol gave. But it is definite proof Seungcheol has eyes for Jeonghan, not me.
