You were part of the high army
(A : Welp) ,Sera who's been charged to deal with the villagers outside the fire nation's borders.

You caught the avatar and his gang.It all seemed like everything was going to end for them but after the officer who's tasked at another location had told you to burn down the villagers and bring the avatar to the empire,you had realized this was a wrong thing to do.You also had developed a relationship with Aang and his friends but you didn't want to admit.

You secretly helped the villagers and Aang and his friends to escape but you have to face the consequences of being killed by your commanding officer.You tried to fight back but he was winning. Bruises were obviously seen but you were happy.You gazed at the flying byson one last time before you closed your eyes.

"Is she awake? Is she?"
"Hold on now,look at how injured she is..She's strong to even deal with that guy alone."
"What do we do with her?"
"I think she should come with us."
"Aang are you sure?!"

I woke up with a sharp pain on my head.I found my self covered in bandages.
I looked up and saw Aang's face near mine,his eyes stare at me.My blush appeared so I pushed his face away in panic.
"Gah! Who are you? Uwaa!!"
Everything felt unfamiliar until a girl touched my shoulders and told me everything was okay.Soon I realised it was Aang,Katara and Sokka

"Thanks for saving me..I'm sorry to be a burden to you..Just leave me anywhere on a random village and I'll be on my way.." I rest my head on Katara who was sitting beside me.I'm still in pain and tired but I could deal with it later.
"How are you gonna survive with you injured?" Katara asked.Her voice was full of concern.I smiled.She's so kind even to someone like me..

"I think I would only burden you and the rest." I peeked at Aang.He was frowning.

"Look,what you did there-you know turning your back on those fire nation people which is a good thing and even gladly sacrifice yourself for us and the villagers is a good thing.I think all of us wanted you to stay with us." Aang said.

"Wha?! Her? A woman from the fire nation?! A commanding officer too!" Sokka seemed to be mad.I smiled wryly.

"Did you literally forget what Aang said literally a few seconds ago?" Katara said annoyed with her brother.

"Yeah,I don't think your friend likes me here."

"Well he just have to get used to it 'cus you're staying!"

I smiled.
"Thank..Thank you for trusting me..I want to help you as much as I can until I am at your disposal.."

"You're not going to be our servant or something silly! You're our new family member now! Welcome!" Aang said full with optimism.katara smiled
Gently while Sokka just grunted.Little monkey and Appa,which is the byson also responded.

Katara pushed my strand of hair behind my back and patted my head.
"You're with us now,as family."
A tear came out and soon enough I started bawling.I gave Katara a hug and then Sokka who is was close at that time and finally Aang.He tensed up at first but finally relaxed and hugged me back.His face seems to be a little red but that probably was my imagination.

A new family huh..I wonder what will happen in the future.

Soon enough I had developed a crush while helping Aang in his journey.I didn't know if he feels the same way but I would try my best to convey these feelings slowly but surely.
