chapter five

Like usual, when I got home I greeted mum but this time planting a kiss on her forehead, she replied me with a pat on my cheek, I had a  quick shower, took my lunch of salad, freshly baked beans and milk, then I quickly rushed to my room, I has to hurry up and make sure all my assignments are completed before rahu gets here.

    I was still struggling with my science home work when I heard a noise from the sitting room, firstly I was reluctant to move an inch away from by bed but then the voices grew louder i had to get up, it was mum!..mum's voice and a familiar voice, I quickly rushed and stood by my door trying to get the little information I could
     "....I'm only trying to protect you, not that I am happy hiding him,".

    The  familiar voice trailed off calmly, mum coughed lightly surely it was due to the shout that issued some seconds ago, then I opened the door stepping into the sitting room
   
       Both eyes immediately fell on me, there was a shock expression  on both faces, mum quickly rushed to my side,

      "Amal....I thought yo..you we...were a..asleep" mum  finished holding my arms tenderly,

    " What just happened?"  I asked rather, ignoring mum's question, I gently moved away from mum's side looking sternly at the man mum was talking to as I perceived something fishy... Yeah not meaty anyway.. But something obviously serious just took place, mum smiled
  
   " I and Mr wits was having a little conversation about the farm.... Its actually nothing", Mr wits was nodding in agreement, despite I was only thirteen I knew it was something serious but I decided to believe mum, she had never lied to me...OK, NO, she has, expect it was for a serious reason.
   
" hope school was fine" Mr wits asked, I knew things were awkward between the three of us and he wanted to reduce the tension but I wanted them to know I knew something actually went down, so I gave a nod and walked to my room, I felt mum's eyes follow me, until I shut the door.

    I tried to finish my science homework, but it proved difficult, I kept staring at the calculations in my text book, they didn't seem meaningful

     "Arrghh..so useless...science.. So weird " I said.

    And that was it, I slipped my notes  in my bag and tried to getting some rest.  

    Immediately my door shut open
      "Amal!" Rahu yelled
I gave a frown shutting my eyes tightly, he ran over to my bed,  hitting me gently
    
    " I know you aren't sleeping, get up it's past four and mum has been calling you! " he shouted,

This time, I still proved difficult, I felt him get up and moved away from me, I was happy he finally gave up,

"I will splash you this water" I heard him say some minutes later, Rahu wouldn't dare it, he has no wits, so I remained calm, in some seconds I felt a shower of water fall on my face, I quickly jumped up, opening my eyes, I saw a smiling rahu, clapping his hands cheerfully,

    I gave him a frown and I chased, he ran swiftly, I knew I would get him with ease but then I was stop by someone by my door,
     "Oh! Mum!" I groaned
Rahu had definitely ran away,
  
   "What the hell happened here" mum said in anger pointing at my bed, I took a quick glance and immediately faced mum, 

"its rahu" I said pointing at the door, she hissed,
   
         whoa! I just realised the mess rahu caused, my mattress was fully soaked, the water also spilled to the floor,

          " mum am really sorry, I will quickly fix this" I said sadly looking at her tender eyes
    
     " just go ahead, let Me fix it, or you will be late",
    I smiled, I quickly changed to a pair of old jeans and an ash shirt and ran off.

    I met rahu outside,  immediately he saw me he ran, I laughed arrogantly  "am not chasing you" I said amidst laughter. But rahu didn't listen so I joined the race, and we ran through the pathway till we got to the farm.
   
Am sorry I updated quit late, I have been low on data, but I will find a way, so you guys wouldn't be left hanging
