Chapter 13

Today is my first whole day ever since I came back. I decided hang out with Eunji since I didn't get to see her yesterday at the welcome party.

We decided to meet up at a cafe near the school in the afternoon.

I arrived 5 minutes earlier and sat down in a table for 2 near the front.

I was about to take out my phone and text Eunji that I was there when the waiter came over.

"I would like a mocha macchiato please," I said without looking up.

"Jihyun?" the waiter asked.

I looked up to see who it was.

"Xiumin?"

He looked around and put his finger on his lips. "Shh. No one knows yet."

I nodded. It must be hard for a celebrity like him to even come to a cafe.

"wait, but what are you doing here?" I wondered.

"Can't you tell? I'm a waiter here," he replied.

Stupid me. Of course he is. He has that whole waiter costume on.

"Ooh right, but how did you get the job?" I asked. "I'm actually surprised a K-Pop star would work at a cafe."

"I wasn't planning to at first, but then the owner of this cafe hung up a sign that said waiter/waitress needed. Since I love coffee, I decided work part-time. She also said that since I'm so handsome, I could attract more customers," he explained as he blushed at the last part.

I giggled at how red his face was.

"It's true though, you would. Also becuase your popularity," I added.

"Is the owner still looking for more workers?" I suddenly asked.

He nodded then smiled. "Are you going to apply?"

"Um... probably... Yeah. Since i need a job anyways," I said.

"I'll ask the boss," he said as he went back into the kitchen.

The door's bell jingled as someone stepped inside.It was Eunji. She started scanning around the room.

I started waving. She saw me and came over.

"It been been a long time hasn't it?" I asked as she sat down.

"Yea," she answered glumly. 

I looked at her suspiciously. "Is something wrong?"

"No."

Wow another one word answer.

"So I heard you and V are dating now," I said, trying to start a conversation.

"Engaged," she corrected.

"Ah yes," I said. "So how did it happen?"

"Well, I guess people are finally starting to notice my charms," she said confidently.

"And, I wanted to tell you something," she started saying.

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's best if you and I don't be friends anymore," she finished.

"What? Why?" I asked. That sounded really random.

"You know. You're relationship with V in the past wasn't very pleasant. I don't want any obstacles that could break my relationship with V," she explained.

"But, isn't our friendship important too?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes. "Can you not tell? I hated you. I envied you."
