Veronica Lodge was just as beautiful as Heather Cromwell had seen in her visions, with a cat-like face, plump lips, and eyes like ice despite their warm color. As Heather looked at her from the side view mirror of her black Ferrari, she heard the faint cries of her ever-so faithful crow companion, Akuma, from outside. Looking away from the mirror, she looked to Akuma, who was perched upon a maple tree in front of her. They made eye contact and Heather subtly nodded, Akuma nodding back before flying closer to the school.
Heather then got out of the car, the wind blowing her dark hair back, as if to give the remaining students loitering in the parking lot a good look at her face. She had a cherry red dress on, with black ankle high boots, a small black bag slung on her shoulder, and dark red knee high nylons. She walked towards Veronica, standing next to her, looking bored. Not expecting someone so close that quick, Veronica turned, surprised, to look at the beautiful girl next to her.
"Heather Cromwell. It's a pleasure to meet you." Heather gingerly held her hand out, to which Veronica took and the two shook hands before Veronica spoke. "Veronica Lodge." Heather smiled, almost mockingly. "Oh, I know." Veronica didn't like the look in Heather's eyes, it was dark, and twisted, and it reminded her of her father. Veronica took in a sharp breath of air, making it clear that she was uncomfortable. Soon, the blonde haired Betty Cooper came walking towards the girls, dark haired Kay June in tow. Both smiled at Veronica, but as their eyes met Heather's, they lost their smiles. While Betty decided to just focus on Veronica instead of a smirking Heather, Kay couldn't help but focus on her old best friend, scrutinizing her cold attitude and older appearance. Soon, they started the tour, walking inside and down the halls.
"So, I usually start off my tours with a little history and context. Riverdale High first opened its doors in 1941 and-" Veronica interrupted Betty, giving her two cents, much to the chagrin of Betty, and the amusement of Heather, while Kay just looked at Betty like a lost lap dog, "And hasn't been redecorated since, apparently." The Lodge looked around in thinly veiled disgust. "Honestly, I feel like I'm wandering through the lost epilogue of Our Town. Uh-huh."
Betty, Veronica, and Kay giggled, as Heather smirked. "So what's the social scene like here? Any night clubs?" Veronica questioned, and Heather took the chance to let her old friends hear the slyness in her voice. "A strip club called the Ho Zone, a pretty trashy place, if I do say so myself." It was then that Kevin Keller decided to make his appearance. "There's also a tragic gay bar called Innuendo." He picked up for Heather, putting his arm around the girl, and kept talking like nothing had ever happened, like there hadn't ever been rumors about her, like she hadn't left. The other girls noticed, but didn't say anything about it, seeming to feel bad. Veronica noticed that for a single moment, Heather's smirk melted into an actual smile; but the smirk was back before anyone could even really notice. Veronica wasn't even sure it happened, or if it was her imagination, but she filed the scene in her mind as an ask betty later moment.
