Sam was cooking when they arrived. "Cas!" he walked over to give the man a hug. While he hugged him, he looked over to Dean as if to ask: Did you sleep with him yet? Dean threw a bitch face at him as Sam released Cas.
"Hello Sam." Cas said smiling.
"Hey! Where've you been?"
"I just needed to get away." Cas looked down.
"From what?" Dean and Sam asked in unison.
"Nothing." Cas shrugged and walked down in to the kitchen.
Dean looked to Sam and then back to Cas. "I'll handle it." He mouthed.
Cas was looking through the cupboards when Dean got to him. "Hungry?" He asked.
"Not really." Cas said closing the cupboard door. "Can we go to my room? I want to talk."
Dean watched Cas move towards his room, and then started to follow. When they got behind the closed door, Cas sat on the bed and motioned for Dean to sit next to him.
"Dean, I had a reason to leave." Cas started.
"I figured." Dean said as he sat next to him.
"I started to develope feelings toward you. Or at least, finally noticed they were there." Cas broke eye contact for a moment to look at his hands. "I was afraid it would ruin everything and I didn't know what to do so I had to leave. The feelings were new, I'd never experienced them before. I wasn't going to tell you, but now I know that you feel something as well."
Dean was silent for what felt like forever to Castiel. "Cas, why didn't you just tell me?" He asked taking his hand.
"I didn't know how."
Dean frowned. He wasn't sure how he would've reacted if the other came out with his feelings before he realized he had them too. "I get it. While you were gone, I started to feel different.. I wasn't eating or sleeping. Just ask Sam. But I finally realized what was causing it.."
"What?" Cas asked.
"I realized I need you. And I can't live without you, Cas." Dean looked away. He wasn't used to being so open about his feelings. Normally he'd shove them down with a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Cas stared at Dean in shock. He didn't know what to say. He assumed the hunter would've ignored what he said, played it off as nothing, but saying he feels something too? He shook his head. "No."
Dean looked at him confused. "No?"
"You're lying. Don't lie. I can handle rejection. I can't handle being lied to." He said standing up.
Dean just started at him.
"Dean tell me the truth. Tell me that you don't feel anything towards me. Tell me that it's one sided." He begged. He couldn't accept that the other could possibly feel something as well.
