I woke up in a strange room. It was dark, but I was still able to see. I was lying in a bed. My shoes had been removed, but I could still feel my socks on my feet. I tried to reach up rub my eyes, but my hands were tied in front of me. My ankles were tied as well. The rope cut into my wrists and I felt a warm, wet sensation run down my arms. The smell of blood flooded my senses. I attempted to speak, but there was tape over my lips. Oh God, what was happening?
My head was spinning. I attempted to piece my memory together. I remembered all that I could.
My name is Bethany Smith. I'm 15 years old. I live in California with my brother Joey. My mother is dead. My father is gone. I went to a Pierce the Veil concert for my 15th birthday. I witnessed Mike Fuentes kill a man, and now I'm here.
I heard muffled voices outside the door.
"Mike, what were you thinking?" A new voice yelled. I recognized it as Tony's.
"I wasn't thinking, okay? I didn't know what to do!" Mike yelled back.
"I understand that, but why would you do this man?! Kidnapping is illegal, you've pulled ALL of us into this shit now!" Vic yelled, clearly angry with his brother.
"I don't know! And it's not kidnapping! Stop calling it that!"
"Well, what would you call it then? She's not here willingly!" Another voice said. Jaime.
I zoned out of their argument, lost in my own thoughts. What was gonna happen? Were they gonna kill me?
I began to cry softly. Fear shifted into sheer terror.
I should've never gone to that concert alone. I should've let Joey come with me. Why is everything my fault?
I heard the door quietly creak open. I pretended to be sleeping. Arms lifted me gently off the bed, and carried me into another room.
This is it. I'm gonna die and no one can save me.
When we stopped moving, I fluttered open my eyes slowly. All of the guys stared at me while Vic cradled me in his arms.
"We're going to hell." Tony rubbed his face with his tattooed hands.
Vic's gaze locked with my own. He smiled sadly at me. My eyes widened and I pushed against his chest with my arms as hard as I could with my hands tied, tumbling from his grasp and hitting the wood floor. I crawled into a corner, and hid my face from the four men staring at me.
Vic kneeled down and carefully peeled the tape off my mouth. Why was he being so gentle with me?
"What's your name?" He asked quietly.
"Take me home." I hissed in reply.
"I'm sorry sweetie, we can't just yet." He sighed sympathetically. He seemed genuine, but there was still no way I was trusting him.
"Don't call me that." I snapped, backing further into my corner.
Vic wasn't giving up just yet.
"Leave me alone!" I screamed at him, attempting to fight back to the best of my ability.
But Vic was stronger. He held my bound wrists in one hand, and attempted to brush hair out of my face with the other.
"Stop! Stop it!" I screeched at the top of my lungs. I continued screaming as loud as I could, hoping someone would hear me. He put his free hand over my mouth. Tears fell from my eyes and rolled onto his hand.
"Listen to me, okay?" He cooed. "I know you're scared. I know you're scared and we're not gonna hurt you. We don't want to hurt you at all. I just need you to be quiet and listen to me, okay? Can you do that?" I nodded.
