max was pissed. unbelievably pissed.

after 2 years, he dumped her for stacey. how could he do this to her?

she felt stinging tears stream down her face as she walked through the unfamiliar neighborhood. it was halloween night, her favorite night of the year, and max was alone. but she had one thing in mind, and one thing only. revenge.

the girl stumbled down maple street which was a few miles away from her neighborhood. she was a tad bit tipsy after the party she attended with will. he was supposed to be her ride home but she snuck out after hearing the news. will must've been worried sick.

max walked to the end of the street, arriving at the house. she reached inside her bookbag and carefully pulled out a carton of eggs that were past expiration date.

she picked up an egg and examined it. "this one's for you, asshole." max said and threw it at the window. she missed it by a few feet so she picked up another one. the egg splatered on the glass.

the girl waited a few seconds before throwing another one. the light turned on immediately and max ducked behind a bush. crap, she thought. the window opened and revealed a pale brunet boy, someone who was definetly not her ex.

did i just egg the wrong house?

"who the hell is out there?" the boy yelled. max hid quietly, trying not to make any sudden movements. she could see the boy look around, but it was too dark to see anything. seeming like he gave up, he ducked back inside.

max thought this was a good opportunity to make a run for it. she shoved the carton of eggs in her bookbag and got out her skateboard until she heard the door open behind her.

"hey!" his voice shouted.

max practically threw her skateboard on the ground and pushed off as fast as she could. however, the figure was faster than she was and toppled her to the ground. the boy pinned her down.

"get off of me!" she shouted.

"you just egged my house!"

"yeah, by accident!"

"you ran away!"

max kicked his shin and he popped right off of her, falling on his back. she picked up her skateboard and was about to sprint away, until he called out her name.

"you're max, right? from my english class."

shit. she raised an eyebrow. "and you are.." max looked the boy up and down. if she was honest she had never seen him before.

"mike. mike wheeler."

"okay, mike, i'm really sorry, but i got the wrong house."

"so you just go around, egging houses?" he questioned.

"i actually have a pretty good reason." she defended herself.

"and i don't care. i should call the cops-"

"don't!" max intervened.

"but i won't." he paused. "as long as you help me clean this up."

max nodded, letting out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "yeah, fine." the boy nodded and gestured for her to follow him up. max followed behind, hanging her head in embarrassment. way to make a first impression, she thought. mike held the door open for her as she walked in. he had a nice house and she could tell he came from money. the two walked up the stairs to mike's room. he turned on the light, revealing a mess of clothes and candy wrappers. "sorry." he mumbled.
