Change of Tone

NOLAN'S POV

"Why did you?!" I immediately look down and try to hide my tears. "I needed money." The room became silent, but all I could think about was her perfect lips around my cock again. God! What is wrong with me?! She took me to a cool place and I can't even go ten minutes without thinking of her sexually. "Can we start over?" I look up to see the innocent Ember looking at me with the purest eyes ever and I nod, "I would like that."

"What?!" We both started laughing, "What?" She asks confused while still laughing. "You have never kissed someone and you sucked my dick like a pro?!" Her faced turned a bright red and said, "No, I have never been kissed. I guess, men never found me attractive enough." She looked down and I could tell she was upset, so I scooted closer and grabbed her hand. "Hey, if it makes you feel better, I used to be the school geek. I know how to build a camera from scratch parts. Plus, I am pretty sure that men thought you were attractive, because you are gorgeous." I could feel my cheeks heat up some, but I don't dare loose eye contact with her. She giggled some and said, "What about you? Are you and that blonde girl dating?" I coughed trying to hide my laugh, "Aria?! The one from the porn?! God. No. I rather put lemon juice in my eyes than date her." Her eyes grew, "Damn, you really do not like her." I look down and start playing with my jacket. "It's not that. I just when I am with her, I am not myself." She looked at me confused and said, "What do you mean, Ethan?" I close my eyes and say, "My name isn't Ethan, it's--"

My phone started to ring loudly, breaking our conversation. I look at it to see my mom calling. I look up at Ember and said, "I have to take this. I am sorry." She nodded and I walked down the hall so Ember couldn't hear.

Nolan: "Hello?"

Mom: "Nolan, baby! You're alive! Where are you? Come home baby!"

Nolan: "Okay, Mom. I will be on my way. Did you take your medicine?"

Mom: "No. The medicine doesn't work. STOP TALKING ABOUT ME LIKE THAT! I AM YOUR MOTHER!"

I jump some when her tone changed.

Nolan: "I am sorry, Mama. I will be home."

We say our goodbyes and I instantly knew that I was in trouble.

EMBER'S POV

I walk into my apartment after a long time without being home. I turn on the light to the front room and jump when I hear someone yell, "Surprise!" I turn to see Amber standing right behind me, and I quickly drop everything and embrace her in my arms. "What are you doing? I just saw you on Face Time yesterday?" We broke apart and sat on my couch, "I took off a couple of weeks, so I could spend time with you. I missed you. Jack said it was okay that I crash in your spare bedroom.  Anyways, I was told there was a party tonight. We should go crash it!" I look down and say, "You know how I feel about parties. Last time I went, I got blackout drunk and almost got us killed." She reached over and put her hand on top of mine. "C'mon. You can't live your life in fear. I promise, I won't let anything happen to you. I can even invite the boys, so they can also keep an eye on us." I twiddle my thumbs and look her into our matching eyes. "Fine, but promise me, no funny business." She lifted three fingers and said, "I solemnly swear, I am only up to good." I laugh at her attempt to quote Harry Potter, but failed. "Plus, I think Grayson Dolan is supposed to be there!"
