it's the next morning, and with the new information i heard, i wanted to look somewhat presentable. "how do i look?" i ask ariana.

she takes a moment and looks me up and down. "you look hot, but professional." she tells me, a small smirk on her lips. i let out a breath of air, nodding my head. i take a quick look in the full body mirror we have in our living room.

"good." i run my fingers through my wavy hair. "are you," she gasps. her face goes very close to my face, examining it.

i furrow my eyebrows in confusion, not understanding why she was so close to my face. "you're wearing makeup!" she smiles.

i roll my eyes, "yeah, yeah. take a photo, it'll last longer." sarcasm rolls off my tongue.

"you see, i would. but, that's just a lot of space wasted in my phone." she retorts, laughing at her statement. she looks at my outfit again, "are you trying to look good for jack gilinsky, since i told you he's hot?" she asks.

i chuckle, shaking my head. "no, i'm looking presentable for once. is that a problem?" i ask her.

she shrugs, "don't know. maybe you want to be with him." she winks, in a singsong voice. "have you eaten anything?" she asks, changing the subject. we walk into the kitchen, and i shake my head.

"that isn't true, and no. i'll go run by starbucks or something." i tell her. she nods, "go now, you don't want to hit traffic." she ushers me out of the apartment.

"okay, god! bye." i wave at her. she smiles, waving back. i step out of the apartment, shutting the door behind me. i take a deep breath.

"hello, how may i help you?" a woman at the front desk asks as soon as i walk into the large building.

she seems to be around my age or older. "i'm here for my interview with jack gilinsky." i tell her. i look around the building, it was absolutely gorgeous.

she nods, typing something into the computer. "right this way." she steps out of her desk, bringing me to the elevators.

"what's the interview about? if you don't mind me asking." she seemed friendly enough, just making conversation. she presses the 20th floor button, jesus.

"it's for a project in college." i briefly tell her. she nods, "i'm jennifer, by the way." she smiles warmly.

"im scarlett." i smile back.

jennifer was a pretty, small blonde. she wore a blue blouse and a tight black skirt. she looked around 24 years old. "so, what should i know before I go in there?" i ask her as the elevator passes the next floor.

"he's very closed off, he may seem rude, but if you slowly get to know him, he's nicer. i guess?" she says, but it comes out more as a question.

I nod my head slowly, "okay."

"don't worry, everything will be alright." she smiles warmly.

the elevator stops on the designated floor, and we exit. i follow closely behind her as she leads me to his office.

i return the smile, she knocks on the door. "yes?" i hear a deep voice from inside. jennifer slowly opens the door, poking her head in. "i have Scarlett here, for your interview." she says.

"okay, bring her in." he says.

"good luck." she smiles, patting my shoulder as she walks down the hall.

"thank you." i whisper, knowing she couldn't hear me anymore. i tug my bag closer to my body as i slip into the room. the room was very large, making it look roomy. there was a large desk in the middle, i'm assuming, jack in the middle.
