Penguins and french toast

I woke up drenched in sweat. I saw both of them so clearly, it was so real i could smell them. It was light outside so i went downstairs, and smelled something delicious. When i walked into the kitchen i saw bacon and scrambled eggs, and lastly french toast. It smelled amazing.

While i was standing there i hadn't noticed Alex eating at a table. He is the only child of the foster family I'm with. They wanted me because i am a girl and a teenager. And they already had a son, and had wanted a daughter for a while. But, the oldest girl was me. And that is what they wanted. They didn't want to have to go through the baby faze again.

I finally noticed him sitting there watching me. They had gone to get me the night before, so I hadn't talked much to any of them.

"Are you hungry?" He asked. I turned to answer but by the look i must have given him he knew my answer. He stood up and walked over to all the food. He grabbed a plate and started to pile food onto it. He handed it to me and i walked over to the table and sat down. He grabbed me a fork and handed it to me. 

I dug in. Everything was extremely flavorful. And it was the best food i had ever tasted. He looked over at me and smiled. And for the first time in a while i smiled. And because of it it seemed that his smile grew. Which seemed impossible, but it happened.

Once i finished eating i felt amazing. I started to go back to my room, but before i reached the first step he called out and said "Hey Celeste, if your interested which i mean you don't have to if you don't want to but, there's this guy, he's like my best friend so we are going to the zoo later and he said it would be cool if you came. And i agree. So if you want to come you can. But you don't have to." He said quickly. I could tell he thought i was going to say no.

Wanting to surprise him and show him i wasn't always this gloomy, i said "Sure, I'll go." His face lit up like the sun. It was amazing and i wished i could look like that. Still smiling he responded with "Cool, when we are about ready to leave I'll come get you."

I smiled back and walked upstairs to my room to take a shower. When i got out i went into my room to change and Alex was standing by the door. When he saw me he blushed a very deep shade of red, even though i was wrapped in a towel. He said "There are a few more minutes until we are going. Just so you know." "Thank you, Alex." He turned and walked away and i shut the door to change.

My foster mom, Emily, as she had insisted i call her if i didn't call her mom, had gotten a few outfits for me. Or what she said was a few. She had actually filled half of the walk in closet with clothes and shoes and told me we would go shopping for the rest of the clothes i wanted whenever i wanted to.

It was fall so i changed into dark blue jeans with a dark gray sweatshirt that she said would bring out my blue-grey eyes. I pulled it on and didn't regret it. It was warm and super soft. I pulled on some black high tops and put my hair in a ponytail. My hair, still kind of wet, started to curl. Which to me was extremely annoying. But i was too lazy to do anything about it. So i walked downstairs and almost bumped into Alex.

He looked down at me and said "I was just about to come tell you that it was time to go, but i guess now that you're here, we can leave." He said. "We?" I questioned. He said "Yeah, Celeste let me introduce you to Henry. I looked over in the direction he was gesturing in and saw the most handsome guy i had ever seen. He was tall probably around six feet, had dark brown slightly curly hair, and eyes like caramel and melted chocolate. He was in between pale and tan so a light skin tone.

I then realized i had been staring at him. I started blushing like Alex had earlier. I looked away and the boy with the name i didn't know smiled the best smile i had ever seen. "Ready to go?" Alex asked. I nodded and we walked out the door on our way to the zoo.
