Wishing On Dandelions

Smoothies and Embarrassment

We drove to the zoo in Alex's car. It wasn't a very long drive, but it was longer because it was quiet. Very quiet. No had said anything for a while. The only person that had made it a little less awkward was Alex. He kept saying things that made henry and i laugh. But that was it. And of course being my kind of brother having seen the look between hanry and i earlier he made us sit in the back together. All he had to do was say that he didn't want to have to buy lunch so our food had to tske up the whole front seat.

When we got there, there were so many people there that we couldn't even find a spot to park, let alone get in. So, we changed our plans. Which was kind of disappointing. But it was okay, I guess. So, instead we went to a place that Henry and Alex went to a lot just to hangout. We were hot and slightly hungry so we got smoothies and french fries.

When we went to sit down we found an empty booth and i sat on one side with Alex and Henry sat in the other by himslef. Which suprised me but i didn't argue. Until this very beautiful blonde girl came up and sat next to Henry. He looked pretty uncomfortable but the girl didn't seem to notice.

"Hey, you." She said in a silky voice. I watched as he tensed up and scooted away from where she was. He looked atme pleadingly and then understood kind of what he was asking. He got the girl to look away for a second and looked at me again. He mouthed "help me." And the next time she turned back to him she started to scoot closer to him and i coughed. She didn't seem to notice so i coughed louder until she turned and looked at me and said

"What do you want, dork." I looked at her and glared and responded with " excuse me but my boyfriend looks uncomfortable and i am not allowing you to go any further than where you are. In fact your too close so, back off." She looked shocked. Then she started to laugh. "This hot guy is your boyfriend. I am extremely suprised he would date someone that looks like you." She started to laugh again. And before i could respond, someone said " well i guess it's not up to you who i date, or is it?" I was suprised when i realised that it was Henry.

He had said that. "And just so you know, i don't date jerks. A specially ones who aren't actually pretty, what you call pretty, or beautiful, i could wipe off with kleenex." He continued. He stood up grabbed his food looked over at us and we followed.

I turned back to look at blonde and she wash blushing of embarrassment. And everyone was staring at her. A couple other teenage boys were laughing as they walked up to her and handed her some slips of paper. They said " we don't need these anymore, we completely agree with that guy." They walked back go their spot, and i turned and walked away out to the car. I didn't get in immediately because it looked like alex and henry were having a very serious talk. So i waited a little bit then started to get in. They stopped their conversation very quickly and alex smiled at me and asked "ready to go?" I nodded and sat down and shut the door. We drove home in silence.
