Ever since we met four and a half months ago, Marshall and I have been going strong. He calls me everyday after he's done working to ask about my day, and me his. We try to see each other at least twice weekly, if not more. We do have minor disagreements from time to time, but at the end of every day I am reminded how lucky I am to have randomly bumped into him in my work parking lot.

Today is New Year's Eve. The Christmas tree Marshall had absolutely insisted on getting was still up and fully decorated in the foyer of his house. I told him he didn't need to go get the largest tree Detroit had to offer, but he simply wouldn't hear me. Plus, he knew it would make Melissa much happier and more willing to have Christmas dinner at his house instead of his, and hopefully change her attitude about his unfamiliar kitchen. Which, by the way, worked because Melissa absolutely loved it.

I had slept over in anticipation for todays party. Marshall had been planning it for about a week now. He had gabbed to me about the friends he had invited, while not many, they were the ones he trusted and wanted me to meet the most. He wasn't planning a major blowout, as he had revealed to me he was ten years clean, but he promised it would be a fun time. I wasn't sure how I felt about spending a night with a bunch of guys, but I was more than willing to do what would make him happy.

He was up and awake a few hours before me as he said he had some errands to run and things to oversee before the party. I got a few more hours of sleep and got up to shower and begin prepping myself for the evening. I showered and was standing in Marshall's bathroom finishing my makeup when I heard him enter the house. He was giving some orders to some people and I believe I heard him answer a phone call or two before sticking his head in the room to check on me.

I heard his bedroom door open and him walk inside. At this point in getting ready I was still in my bra and underwear because I'm a klutz and known to get makeup or even hair product on my clothes, which I was trying to avoid. Marshall wasn't exactly expecting to find me in such a state and his expression changed the minute he laid eyes on me. This went sort of how I would imagine it does when a predator in the wild laid eyes on their prey. It was a humorous sight to see from the corner of my eye. He came over to me immediately, wasting no time at all. "You know, we could have our own party right here." He said with a smirk. His voice was low, almost a growl. He wrapped his large, masculine hands around my bare torso and kissed me tenderly on my neck, pushing my hair out of the way. "We could," I began to counter, "but you do have some people coming over you had intended for me to meet remember? What about them?" He was beginning to make it hard to be the responsible one because as I said this his hands and lips were beginning to wander. "Marshall, please- "I whispered, beginning to feel short of breath. He turned his gaze to meet mine but kept his hands stationary. I was enjoying this, but we never did really learn how to have a quickie, so I didn't want to get anything going I wasn't sure we could finish. I noticed the time. It was getting closer to party time, so I peeled Marshall off me and turned to face him. "We have all night." I reminded him. I lightly tapped him on the tip of his nose with my index finger. He rolled his eyes at me like he usually does when I do this, and I walked away to get my clothes as not to tempt him anymore.

We emerged from his room, I now fully dressed. It was now right before time for the party to start. I knew I was wearing the nervousness I was feeling on my face. I didn't know anything about any of the friends of his I was meeting. He had me told me a little about them. I knew he had met most of them though work in some way or another. Being a music producer introduced him to all kinds of artists he may not come across usually. "Are you doing ok?" he asked me, noticing my expression. "Huh? Oh, yeah, I'll be fine. I'm just nervous is all, but you knew that already." He kissed me again. "I told you there is no need to be nervous, I think everyone will really like you, you'll see." He offered me one of his sweet and genuine smiles and I knew I would be just fine. He pulled me into his side and all my nerves subsided.
