Supper was finished a little after seven and I still had to do the dishes too. Most of them went in the dishwasher, but a few had to be done by hand. I scrubbed them absent-minded because the party was forcing it's way to the front of my mind. Suddenly, I realized I had no idea what to wear to the party. Would it be like a college frat party or an average high school party?

With my soapy hands I struggled to spell out a message correctly to Sawyer. Thankfully, auto-correct wasn't a jerk and actually helped correct my many typos.

What should I wear to the party?

I had only cleaned one pan before my phone vibrated in my pocket. This time I dried my hands before reading the text.

                 (S) Sweatpants, tshirt, and sweatshirt in case you get cold.

                 (K) Are you playing with me?

                 (S) Nope, I'm serious. Make sure you bring your villain suit in a bag or something. You are gonna NEED it.

This was turning out better than I thought. There aren't many parties you can go to in sweatpants or sweatshirts. I wonder what Sawyer meant in capitalizing the need part. What would we be doing?

Once I finished the dishes, I ran upstairs into my room. Everything was a mess except for the top bunk of the bunk bed which stuck out from the wall into the the center of the room. It had gone untouched for a about a year and sitting neatly on top was a "V" shaped pillow. It was blue and gray and matched the "K" which sat on the floor nowhere close to my bed.

"Miss ya Val." I murmured quietly. Sometimes I would pretend she was still here and have conversations with her during the day. Would she have a boyfriend this year like she had hoped?  Would she have written another book for me to read? Losing a sibling is hard, but losing a twin is crushing. After the incident, I never realized how much I loved getting called Valerie. No one made that mistake after that.

I rummaged through my dresser to find a pair of sweats that would work. Instead, I found a pair lying in a pile of clothes I hadn't put away in probably over a month. I changed my sweater for a plain t-shirt. I knew I couldn't give any personal information away to the surrounding community relating to my villain career by what I wore tonight.

The buzzing of my phone on my desk startled me. I didn't have any idea of who would be texting me at the moment. When my screen lit up, I read the text and who its sender was. Of course it was Sawyer. He asked if he could pick me up a half hour early so at eight thirty.

Of course. I responded. The clock read 8:04. I had under twenty-six minutes until he would be here. I frantically threw my villain leggings, mask, and sweatshirt into my bag. In my opinion, if you are going to be doing evil, you might as well do it comfy. I threw in a pair of tennis shoes and boots depending on what my mood was I would wear one or the other. I quickly applied a little more lipstick and headed down the stairs.

"I thought you still had forty minutes until Sawyer would be here Kel?" My father asked me. He was sitting in his office reviewing what he needed to do still for the night.

"Sawyer asked if I would be okay with him picking me up a half hour eariler. I told him that it was fine." He nodded and said nothing.

The door bell rang and I ran to get it. Sawyer was standing right outside the door wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt but still looking cute. I'm not sure how but he did. He walk inside the house and greeted my father politely.

"Good evening Mr. Brown."

"Nice to see you Sawyer! How was your day?"

"Not too bad Mr. Brown. And yours?"

"Tiring but not too bad as well. And uhhhh. While my mind is on it, what time do you plan to have my daughter back by?"

"Well, at least for tonight, we'll leave early so she will be back by 11:30 or 12 by the latest."

I could tell my dad was thinking it over. They kept me close after losing Valerie, but they also wanted me to enjoy some freedom. They tried not to be too overbearing. After what seemed like forever, my dad opened his mouth to reply. "No later than midnight or there will be no more of this. Also, no drinking anything alcoholic Saw-"

"Oh don't worry sir, no one there wants to lose their head and start giving away secret information. There won't be any drinking from me at all."

My dad smiled. I was about to say we should hit the road when my mom came. "I won't keep you long!" She told me. "Have a great night both of you and nothing stupid okay?"

"We won't!" I said as I ushered Sawyer out of the house. His brand new red Honda Accord was sitting in the driveway ready to take off. He came around and open the passenger side door for me and took my bag. He threw it in the back seat and walked around to the driver's side.

"So where is the party going to be at?"

Sawyer smiled mischievously. "I don't think if I told you you would believe me."

"Oh really?"

"Yes, I guess you're gonna have to wait and find out."

I looked at him and gave a quick eye roll. "You know I will believe you."

He smiled again. His perfect white teeth showing through. "Well, if that is true, then look where we are."

I looked away from him at the building before us. "No way. This can not be the building!" I found it funny and shocking that villains had chosen a library has their headquarters for parties. "A library?" I asked.

"Of course no one really suspects it so."

"But aren't people gonna wonder why so many people are pulling in."

"Well..." Sawyer started. He was pulling something from behind his chair. "Put these on."

He handed me a construction hat and a jacket. The logo on the jacket was one of a construction crew. "Ummm... okay. So we are gonna pose as a construction group?"

"Yep, it's another business that is run by villains."

"But the librarians are always so nic-"

"You're just stereotyping villains. You would be surprised how nice some of them are. Some of them became villains for a similar reason to yours." I had told him why about two weeks ago and I was starting to worry I shouldn't have. He still hadn't me why he became one.

"Let's go! I want to meet some of my co-workers." I said cheerfully and Sawyer just laughed.

"Let's go!"
