I wake up to Cat's leg laying over my waist and her face buried in my chest. Her snores are light and for a moment I remember how beautiful she is and how peaceful she can be. I sigh and kiss her head. I look over at the clock on my nightstand and see that it's 12:30 pm which means we need to get Cat up so we can get her ready for her appointment. Today we're gonna see if she's ready for her follow up surgery on her abdomen, legs and pussy. We are also suppose to see how her head is doing and make sure that her stitches are healing nicely. I sigh remembering the day of the huge fight in her hospital room.
The way she looked at me as Marcus and Jasmine told her the news of me cheating on her. The woman then is different from the one snuggled up under me now. She is broken and stuck in her pain and is struggling to fight for life. I love her even if she is broken because I've seen her at her best and now I have seen her at her worst. And I know that she is still the woman I wanna be with at the end of the day when everyone leaves. I sigh and kiss her cheek.
"Come on baby you gotta wake up."
"Mmm no let me sleep more." I smile and motor boat her cheek.
"Ssstttoooppp. Such a butthead let me sleep."
"Nah baby girl you gotta get up. We gotta get to your doctors on time."
"I hate them."
"I know but I pay for them so that you can get the best care baby girl. Let's go come on before I gotta pick you up and carry you to your room." She doesn't move she just pulls the covers over her face and turns over.
"Catayla Smith get yo ass up before we're fuckin late!" Marcus yells from outside the door. I shake my head and get up. I feel around the bed to see if Cat wet the bed and surprisingly she didn't. I smile and kiss her cheek again.
"You didn't wet the bed which means yo stubborn ass ain't have no nightmares finally!" She shrugs and slowly sits up.
"That means it looks like Imma need to sleep with you more often then huh?" She looks at me like I lost my mind and I start laughing. She smirks for the first time in weeks and I continue laughing because I know she's coming back from that dark place and my ass is fuckin excited.
"Shut up. You're being too loud." She says throwing a pillow at my head. I catch it and smile and stick out my tongue and she busts out laughing and I stop and I start laughing with her. It takes us a few minutes to calm down but once Marcus opens the door we straighten up and he smiles.
"Come on y'all, we can't be late again. That nurse was mad rude last time."
"That's....that's um." She sighs struggling to find the right words. We wait patiently "Nevermind." She says as she slowly moves over to get out of the bed.
"Nah baby. Go ahead finish ya sentence. You got this."
She sighs, "It's...It's cuz he likes you." Cat says getting up slowly. I smile and then look at Marcus who is smiling also.
Then he rolls his eyes, "That fine ass nurse don't like me."
"Marc he does. You're just being stubborn." Marcus rolls his eyes again and Cat comes to my side and holds onto my arm.
"Aight let's go get you dressed baby girl. Maybe after the doctors we can go out to eat?" Cat nods her head and Marcus shrugs.
"That's fine with me. Now come on let's go."
"Come on let's go." I say mocking Marcus. Cat smiles and lightly slaps my arm. I chuckle and kiss her forehead. She looks up at me and for the first time I see her eyes sparkle.
