Chapter Twenty:
(Tyson's POV)
"Where is she?" I growled, looking over Jarred's shoulder at the computer screen. He was tracking to track her cell phone, but for some reason it wasn't showing up. "Why isn't it showing up?"
He paused for a moment, running his hand through his hair. I could tell he was calculating his words, planning the way he was going to tell me.
"The only way I see this not working, is if she turned the tracker off." He paused for a moment, millions of emotions running through his eyes. "Lexi is the only that knows how to kill that tracker, Jason wouldn't even know it's there. It had to be her dude."
"But why would she?" But as I said the words, my thoughts from the previous days came back to me. I had had a feeling that something was up, what something wasn't sitting right with her. I had known that girl for the majority of my life, I should have trusted my gut. She had been hiding something from us.
"Call Jason!" I snapped to boys surrounding me, I saw them try but I knew it wasn't going to work.
"They're off the grid." Jarred commented, voicing my thoughts. "But why?"
"I have no idea," I ran my hands over my face, trying to think about where she was going. A chuckle coming from the door caught my attention.
"You know why she has," Bentley commented striding into the middle of the room. "I've known this girl less than half the time you've known her, and I even know why she has left."
I couldn't help but glare at him, yes he had helped me to bring her back the first time, but that didn't me I was a particular fan.
"She knows we would keep her safe," I pointed out, knowing that everyone in this room would put themselves between Alexis and harm's way. Not only because she was our leader but because we loved her. "Can you help us find her?"
He smirked, the cocky look that was so evident years ago appeared on his face once more.
"Of course,"
(Lexi's POV)
I watched as Jason locked the dead bolt behind us, the soft glow of the lights illuminated the hall way. We had been driving for almost 10 hours, it felt good to be out of the car. After my conversation with Tyson, Jason and I hadn't really said much. I guess there wasn't a lot that needed to be said, we both know what we were doing, what we were getting ourselves into.
A part of me didn't trust Jason, I knew that there was something off about him, but I was doing my best to trust the words of his sister. The girl I knew, knew him well enough. She had told me that I could count on him to being this for the right reasons. That he wanted the same thing as me, he wanted his dad dead.
I followed Jason through the house, surprised at how clinical it looked. The safe houses I had, were always a lot more homely then this. Somewhere where it actually felt like people lived.
Jason dropped my bag next to a door, turning to look at me. "This will be your room. Get some rest, we will be off early tomorrow."
I watched as he walked towards an open area at the end of the hall, I assumed it was the kitchen and lounge.
Grabbing my gear, I headed into the bathroom attached to my room. Quickly showering, I dressed in sweats and a baggy shirt. An outfit I knew I could easily leave in if required. Placing my combat boots next to my bed, for a quick getaway, I fell back onto the bed. There was no way that I was going to get sleep tonight. Even if I wanted to.
