Make It Rein

Ya, I wish.

Even though it seemed Allison's ride on Casanova was short she had to call it a morning and get ready for work. Allison threw each horse a flake of hay and flicked the switch in off position and closed the barn door, locking it. Pulling up the sleeve of her purple hoody, Allison checked her watch; 6:30 AM. 'Good. I have enough time to have a hot chocolate before work.' Allison thought. Allison worked at a barrel racing stable, where she mostly broke colts and worked with one of the best; Brittany Pozzi.

Allison hauled her 2 horse trailer down the 'Pozzi Barrel Horse Ranch' driveway. That's how she carried all of her tack with her. As Allison parked near the first barn and started unpacking her tack in the tack room Brittany greeted her. "Hey Allison how are you doing?"

"Great! How are you?"

"Amazing. Hey there's this new filly I want to show you, come along to the second barn once you've finished unpacking."

Finding herself roaming around the isles in barn 2 finally Allison spotted Brittany's blonde head of hair bent down wrapping a horse's hind leg.

"Oh ya." Brittany began as she followed Allison's gaze to the horse's wrapped leg.

"This is Journey. He threw a show in the paddock and at the same time strained a tendon." Brittany said as she patted the chestnuts rump. Leaving his stall, Allison assumingly followed Brittany to the mystery filly's stall.

"Ain't she a beaut?" Brittany gazed. The filly had her head tucked in the corner and the stall was far too dark. You could barely see her outline.

"Oh ya. She looks fabulous." Allison snorted with laughter.

"Bring her out then I can get a good look at her."

"Well that's the thing. This mare is 4 and isn't halter broke or nothing. We had to herd her into this stall. Now I don't have any time for her so I was thinking maybe you could take her in? She's registered and all!" Brittany pleaded.

Allison pondered. Does she really need another horse? Especially a 3 year old who has barely been handled?
