Chapter 2 -An Unexpected Turn Of Events-

The Next Day Flamekit Woke Up, Bounding In Excitement. Lakekit Woke Up Sleepily.

"Why are You-" Lakekit Started Asking.

"Being A True Warrior! Its Sunhigh! Besides, I Want To Play With Aquakit, Greenkit, Seedkit And Seakit!" He Said, Excited. he Ran Out Of The Den, Lakekit Hard On His Heels, Only To Find Them All Grooming Themselves.

"Let's Go Play! Why Are You Getting All Fancy!" Lakekit Exclaimed.

"Our Apprentice Ceremony Is Today, We Want To Look Perfect!" Seedkit Replied. Aquakit And Greenkit Nodded. While Seakit Piped Up;

"Besides We Want To ACT Like Apprentices Too, And Hunt And Battle For Our Clan."

"Ya!" Aquakit Squeaked "Not Playing Like Kits All Day!"

All Four of Them Shuffled Into The Clearing, While Flamekit Muttered,"And Hedgehogs Fly..."

Lakekit Chuckled. Then Nudged Him.

"I heard Swiftrunner had An Awesome Story Anyway!" He Squealed,"Lets Go Hear It!"

Flamekit Nodded And Ran To The Elder's Den, Bumping Into Tangledfur.

"Hey!" He Purred Laughing,"You Got Me And My Fellow Badger Angry!" Tangledfur Announced.

Flamekit And Lakekit Exchanged A Glance Of Excitement. Flamekit Leapt on Tangledfur. Who Chuckled, As Lakekit Attacked Swiftrunner. Climbed On His Bak And Batted It, Then Leapt To His Head, Bit His Ear Gently And Batted The Other One. Tanglefur Roared Playfully, Then Shook Flamekit Off. That's When Flamenose And His Patrol Of Thornfur, Mintpaw And Hawkblaze Crashed In Camp.

"BADGER ATTACK!" They Were Calling "STORMSTAR'S ALREADY DEAD!"

Flamenose Jumped To High Branch.

"A Badger Attacked Us In The Clearing..." he Explained... "Stormstar's Already Dead! Littlefoot, Mousetail, Hawkblaze, Sunpelt, Leafsong, Featherfall, Badgerpaw And Mintpaw! We Will Attack The Badgers! Falconclaw, Maplesweet And Bramblecloud Stay And Defend The Camp!" He Announced "GO!" They Tried To Run To Help Or At Leas Go To The Nursery But The Elder's Blocked Them.

"We Don't Need You To Die Like Stormstar Too...." They Had Said, Eyes Full Of Grief. Flamekit Looked At The Bloody Battle. The Badgers Were Pushing Their Way Into Camp. Although Torn Up One Badger BrokeFree And Charged Towards The Elders Den. The Badger Tore Its Way In. It Made A Killing Blow, Aimed Right At Him. That's When StarClan Broke Free. Tangledfur Jumped In His Way. Taking The Blow.

"TANGLEDFUR!" The Two Kits Shrieked At Once. Tangledfur Didn't Move. Flamekit's EyesBurned In Grief And Rage, Before He Exchanged A Glance At His Brother And Tackled The Badger, Both Aiming A Hefty Blow At One Eye, Whom Had Blinded The Badger. Swiftrunner Later Joined In, Clawing The Badgers Sides And Raking Its Stomach. Until It Flopped Lifelessly Down Below Them. All The Warriors Looked At The Kits And Elders in Amazement.Sunpelt And Hawkblaze Ran Into The Den.

"Father!" They Yowled, Anguished. They Picked Up His Body And Set It Next To Stormstar's, Next To Another Body.

Flamenose's. Everyone's Eyes Widened.

"What Do We Do!?" Sunpelt Shreiked. "Both Sunpelt And Stormstar Are Dead! Tangledfur too!"

Morningbreeze Stepped On High Branch,"Do Not Fear, Dear Clanmates, I Will Consult StarClan Today And Let Them Help Me Choose Our New Leader."

Littlefoot Pushed Through The Crowed,"DO NOT FEAR DEAR CLANMATES, WE ARE STRONG! WE WILL GO THROUGH THIS! WE HAVE LOST 3 OF OUR VALUABLE CLANMATES, WE WILL SIT VIGIL TONIGHT! He Looked One Last Time At Hsi Father, And Tangedfur, Then Flamenose. Then Closed His Eyes, Not Willing For More Deaths.

All The Cats Began Scattering, Expect For The Few Who Were Going To Bury The Dead Ones. Which Included Onioneyes, Sunpelt, Featherfall And Hawkblaze. As They Padded Off. He Saw Morningbreeze Climb High Rock.

"I Have Consulted StarClan." She Mewed "Your New Leader Will Be Littlefoot!"

Everyone Cheered, And Littlefoot Looked Shocked, But He Stepped Up.

"I Accept This Grave Challenge And I Hope That I Will Be A Good Leader, Morningbreeze And I Will Travel To Moonstone Today To Share Tongues With StarClan, For Now, I Will Appoint A Deputy. Thornfur? Will You Be My Deputy?"

Thornfur Stepped Up, But Surprised Everyone With His Responce. "I Am Sorry Clanmates, But I Must Reject, I Am Retiring To The Elder's Den After My Training With Mintpaw Is Over." He Dipped His Head Sadly.

Littlefoot Nodded Sadly. Then Took A Moment To Think,"Hawkblaze." He Decided," I Invite You To Lead Alongside Me, As My Deputy."

Hawkblaze Looked Thrilled But Nodded His Head. He Stepped Up.

"I Accept This Position Of Honor. I Promise I Will Do Everything I Can To Help You Lead FireClan To Victory!"

Everyone Cheered. Morningbreeze And Littlefoot Ate The Bundle Of Travel Herbs And Padded Out Of Camp.
