Chapter 4 -Thoughts-

LAKEPAW'S POV

Lakepaw Snapped Awake Panting, An Ancient Cat, Who Had Claimed Himself Being Foreststar, Had Currently Told Him A Prophecy Of Fire... water... Outcomes... Enemies... Well, Those Things.

'What If I'm The Water!!!' He Thought, Looking Around The Apprentices, Finally Starting To Stir, Due To The Sun Rising. That's When He Noticed His Brother Panting In His Nest.

"Where've You Been Flamekit?" He Teased His Brother,"Running Outside The Nursery Again?" Flamepaw Looked At Him, His Eyes Calm As He Replied,"Smart Warriors Don't Start A Battle They Might Not Win." He Countered Before Storming Out Of The Den. Lakepaw Blinked, Since When Was His Brother A Smart Warrior? He Thought Gruffly.

Deerfur's Head Popped Inside The Den,"Lakepaw! Are You Coming? We're Battle-Training Today, With Flamepaw And Mintwhisker! The're Waiting!"

Lakepaw, Fur Fluffed When He Heard His Brother Was Coming, Then Smoothed Again When He Heard Mintwhisker's Name.

'Pretty And Wise, Yet Playful And Fun At The Same Time!' He Thought Happily. He Padded Out Of The Den, Where The Other 3 Cats Were Waiting,"Finally..." Flamepaw Whispered To Mintwhisker, Purring In Amusement. Lakepaw's Eyes Widened As He Realized His Brother Liked His Crush.Then He Shoved The Thought Away As Mintwhisker And Deerfur Started Trotting To The Training Area.

"Attack Each Other" Mintwhisker Ordered.

"What?" Both Apprentices Said At The Same Time.

"Attack Each Other" Deerfur Repeated, Impatiently This Time.

Flamepaw Didn't Hesitate. He Charged At Lakepaw, Bowling Him Down On His First Try, Then Pinning Him. Lakepaw's Eyes Widened In Surprise And His Mind Raced. He Raked His Thoughts And Previous Battle Training-As A Kit- Sessions. Finally, An Idea Popped In His Mind. He Let His Limbs Go Loose And Body Limp, Once He Felt Flamepaw's Grip Loosen He Heaved Himself Up, Throwing Flamepaw, Off.

FLAMEPAW'S POV

Flamepaw, Bit Back A Gasp Of Surprise, And Covered It With A Neat Landing And A High Chin. While Lakepaw, On The Other Paw, Smiled A Bit, Looking Relieved. He Charged At Flamepaw, Then Leapt At Last Second. Flamepaw Slid Under Him And Raked His Belly With Sheathed Claws, Then Leaped Back Up, And Onto Lakepaw's Back, Battering It.

Lakepaw Rolled Over, And Flamepaw Jumped Off Just In Time Before He Was Squished, Letting Off A Triumphant Yowl.

All Of A Sudden The Leaves Rustled. Both Mentors Were Already Up, Claws Unsheathed. And Flamepaw And Lakepaw Broke Up, Also Staring In The Bushes. Suddenly, A Black And Grey Pelt Appeared From The Ferns. His Yellow Eyes Glowed In The Sun.

"Who Are You?" Mintwhisker Growled. Deerfur Snarled In Agreement.

"And Why Are You In FireClan Territory?" Lakepaw Agreed, A Little More Calm. While Flamepaw Decided To Be Hostile, For This Cat Was Close To Their Camp.

"Hi There!" The Blackish Grey Tom Mewed Cheerfully,"I'm Shadow! A Loner, I'd Like To Join Your Clan. I've Heard Many Stories, Legends And Ta-"

Mintwhisker Relaxed And Nodded While Deerfur Made The Final Decision,"You May Talk To Our Leader; Littlestar, And He Will Decide. We Will Escort You Into Our Camp." Just As She And Mintwhisker Padded Away, Deerfur Looked At The Apprentices,"Go See IfYou Can Make It On A Patrol" She Ordered Them "If Not, Clean The Elder's Bedding, The Other Apprentices Are Still Out Training, The Rest Of The Day Is Yours"

Flamepaw Raced Back To Camp And Looked At Hawkblaze In Dismay As he Realized The Patrols had Left. Once Hawkblaze Explained To Him And Lakepaw That Their Were No More Patrols To Do. He Added One More Thing,"You Two Will Be Going To The Gathering Tonight, So Be Ready."

LAKEPAW'S POV

Lakepaw, Choked Down The Travelling Herbs. Then Ran After Littlestar And Hawkblaze To Follow Them To The Gathering Place.....

Fourtrees. This Was It. His Second Day As An Apprentice And He Was Here. The Scent Of The Other Three Clans Flooded His Mind. He Followed Flamepaw To The Apprentices Section, For He Knew The Scents Due To His First Day As An Apprentice Had Been Spent Border Patrolling, And Lakepaw's, Cleaning The Elder's Den. All The Other Clans Greeted Each Other. Sharing News And Stories. He Looked Around In Wonder.

"Hi There! I'm Woolpaw!" A Cheerful Voice Mewed. Lakepaw Turned to See A Dirty-White Apprentice Looking At Him And Flamepaw.

"Hi..." Lakepaw Started, Trying Not To Flinch Of His Rotten Smell. "I'm Lakepaw, And That's My Brother... Flamepaw."

"Well, I'm Woolpaw, As You Know," He Joked "And This Is My Sister Lilypaw" A Pretty White She-Cat Stepped OutbOf The Clusters. "Hi There!" She Mewed. 2 More Cats Joined Them, Soon Enough, Lakepaw And Flamepaw Had 4 New Friends, Woolpaw And Lilypaw Of EmberClan, Splashpaw Of StormClan And Duskpaw Of BirchClan.

"Have You Ever Been Here Before?" Woolpaw Asked Them. Flamepaw And Lakepaw Shook Their Heads. While Splashpaw And Duskpaw Nodded. As They Explained As Everything Worked, They Were Finally Silenced When The Spottedstar Of BirchClan Called Out "LET THE GATHERING BEGIN!"
