It felt deadly quiet at school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Harry, nor Niall decided to show up, which left me with Liam and Emma, his girlfriend. That wasn't a bad thing, they are actually really lovely people and I know that I can class them as my friends now.

On Tuesday, I believed that Niall just wasn't feeling good and that was the reason to his absence. I thought that it was only a coincidence that Harry wasn't in either. By Thursday, I was beginning to feel a little worried. What if something has happened to them and nobody knows? I couldn't bear to think about it. I asked Liam if he had any idea as to where the two mysterious boys were, but he had no clue.

"Do you think they will be in tomorrow?" I ask Lim, wanting to know what he thought. We're behind the bike shed at school, where we've been hanging out all week. Emma is leaned against the wall, busy staring down at her phone screen at something I didn't know what.

"Eh," Liam replies with a shrug of his shoulders, taking a long drag from his cigarette. "I doubt it, there's not really a point since the weekends straight after."

"Oh." I say. I can't help but feel slightly disappointed. I miss them, well mostly Harry. I know that makes me sound 'needy' or whatever, but I want to see him again.

"You miss him?" He asks, dropping his cigarette onto the pavement before standing on it to squash it.

"No," I answer a little too quickly. Niall must have noticed because he smirks at me whilst raising one eyebrow as if to say 'I don't believe you.'

"Leave the girl alone," Emma speaks up for the first time this lunch. She slips her phone into her back pocket before flicking her light brown hair over her shoulder. I look at her for a minute, taking in her features. She has blue eyes, the colour of the ocean and a kind smile. By looking at her, you wouldn't believe that she would be friends with people like this, let alone dating one. She seems far too innocent, but then again so do I.

"It's the truth and she knows it." Liam says, a devious smile on his lips as he crosses his arms over his chest.

"Even so, she doesn't need you teasing her," She replies, her tone serious although a small smile fills her face.

"Shut up Emma," He says jokingly. I watch as Emma sticks out her bottom lip, pouting up at her boyfriend. Liam reacts by slinging an arm over her shoulders, pulling her into his side.

"You're mean,"

"You know I'm only joking." He replies, looking down at her like she's the most precious thing in the world. I averted my gaze, finding it awkward watching them and it probably made them feel awkward too.

"Hey," A male voice sounds, and I turn my attention towards Damon, who approaches the three of us. He glances at Liam hesitantly, and I smile at him brightly, letting him know that it's alright. "Hazel, can I talk to you? It won't take long,""

"Yeah, sure." I say, and Damon half smiles. He nods his head towards Liam, to which he stares at him coldly in return.
I grab my bag, and the two of us make our way across the playground, he stops at a bench. Hoisting himself up, Damon sits himself on the table before staring at me.

"You know you're meant to be tutoring me later? I can't make it, I have plans." Damon says bluntly, and slight disappointment runs through me.

"Oh, that's fine...we can catch up another time," I reply awkwardly.

---

I rolled over, groaning as I rubbed my tired eyes with the backs of my hands. I really cannot be bothered for school today. Maybe I could just take the day off and phone in sick? Don't be pathetic Hazel, that's just stupid.
