Chapter 1 |6 years old|
**************3rd person POV**************
"Cassie, look over there!" Michael points to two boys across the yard, stealing glances at the moving truck next door, lots of people carrying boxes. The boys see the Novak's looking at them and resume their ball playing. "Let's go over and say 'Hi'."
Michael stands up from his crouch and takes Castiels' small hand. Castiel looks up in worry and shakes his head.
"Cassie, come on. You need friends. This is the perfect chance to get some!"
"No Mikey!" Castiel says, trying to get out of his older brothers' firm grasp. He shakes about and flails his arms. "Mikey, stoooop it!" he whines loudly.
"Cassie," Michael says soothingly, "I won't make you play with them. Just meet them."
Little Castiel thinks this over. He looks behind Michael at the boys. He finds them staring and hides away from them, behind Michael.
"Okay." Castiel says quietly. He grips Michaels' hand tight. The trip seems like forever from his yard to the strangers, yet it is only a few seconds.
"Hello boys" his older brother says, squating to the ground to be almost eye level with them.
The strangers look at Michael, walking slowly to him. "Hi." says the green eyed boy, the older one. Cas smiles slightly at the boy's voice. New, he thought.
Michael looks behind him to find Castiel cowering behind him. He pulls him out a little so they could see him. Castiel waves slightly, looking down at the ground. Deans' mouth turns upward into a toothy grin. Wow! he thought. "This is Castiel, my brother."
"Dean. My brother Sammy is with my Dad over there." he points behind him to the bearded, worn down man. His dad sees them, nodding once to say hello.
"We just came to say hello, maybe play, right Cassie?" he nods once.
"Come one Cas!" Dean takes the boys' hand and yanks him over to the backyard. Castiel gasps loudly and stumbles over his feet at the sudden movement.
Dean opens the gate, pushing Cas inside the fenced area.
"Let's play on the swings!" Dean yells. He giggles at the top of his lungs. Castiel follows quietly behind the ecstatic child. He suddenly gets pushed into the seat.
Dean sits beside him, swinging lightly. "Where did you move from?"
"Heaven, Arizona." he says bluntly. (A/N tell me if this is a real place because idk I just took a random state :/)
"Arizona? Is that a contry?" Dean asks. Castiel being the uninformed child he is he answers, "I guess." and shrugs.
"Really? What is it like?" Dean asks excitedly.
"It's really hot, I guess." He says, warming up some to Dean.
"I'm going to go there one day. I'm going to travel the whole WORLD." Dean says, gesturing in a circle.
Castiel smiles at the his ambition. He wishes he could do that.
***A few weeks later***
"I'm going to Deans' house!" Castiel calls to no one in particular,
He runs over and knocks on the wooden door. Dean answers the door, smiling more than yesterday.
"I'm so glad you came over! We need Mikey and a ladder!"
Cass' jaw dropped a little.
*Few hours later*
"There you kids go!" Michael says after stepping off the latter. Dean had the wonderful idea to make a cup and string telephone. Since their bedrooms are facing each other, they could only hope the string never breaks
"Cas?" Dean asks over the 'phone'.
"Hello Dean." he says
"You can hear me?"
"Yes."
He hears Dean screach with laughter over the line. Hey talked for hours over the phone each night after Cass' curfew.
