You stretch gently, letting out a satisfying groan as you do so. Scratching the top of your head, you look around, observing everything. Something felt.. different. Not in a bad kind of different, just.. unnatural. Flashing open the curtains, you peek out to the world, seeing bright red and green lights being strewn about. You saw various cars and trucks hauling around what appeared to be pine trees. You saw posters being hung up, cut outs being placed down, and various merchandise, all with similar designs. Their designs contained at least one of the following: A decorated tree, Santa Clause, reindeer, snowmen, and the like, and 99% of the merchandise were splashed with red and green. Curious to find out more, you lept out of bed, threw your jacket on, and rushed out the door, not even bothering to whip yourself up a quick breakfast.
You dashed out of the lobby with the speed of The Flash, taking in all your new sights. You took a deep breath and noticed the change in air scent. Typically, the air smelt like.. well.. nothing. This air was kindly accompanied by a soft mix of ginger, hot chocolate and peppermint. You took your mind off the unfamiliar situation and notice the strange aura coming from all of those around you. It usually felt as if the hustle and bustle of London was rather indifferent and blank. Now, the aura felt.. happier. More cheerful.
"Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Wanna come to this gathering at 7:00 tonight down at the theater? There's gonna be lights, music, shows, and even complimentary food!" You immediately recognized that cheerful voice. You turned the corner and, low and behold, there was Lena, handing out fliers for some gathering that was probably hosted by Overwatch. Your focus wasn't so much on the fliers, though, as it was the woman herself. She was wearing a tree-like outfit, compliment by darker green leggings and a lighter green cap, as well as pointy shoes that looked like they came from a witch. You examined her outfit, realizing that, had this outfit been on anyone else, it would've looked ridiculously silly, but on Lena it looked.. nice. Almost a little.. cute.
After a few more moments of you observing her from afar, she caught your eyes and waved at you with a grin and an "Oi!", beckoning for you to join her. Hesitantly doing so, you shove your hands in the kangaroo pocket of your jacket, slowly making your way over to her side. It was at that time when you finally averted your attention over to the fliers.
Just like every other object in that city, the flier was a tidal wave of greena and red, talking about how Overwatch was holding a charity party and how they wanted as many people to come as possible. Seeing you read over the fliers, Lena oh-so-perfectly managed to multitask by giving some light banter to you, while maintaining her happy attitude as she continued to pass the papers out.
"You know, I think it's really great that Overwatch is doing this. I think charity in general is a fabulous thing. Damn near everyone deserves a great life, and it's amazing when people donate their money to help kickstart those great lives." She informed you. You couldn't disagree, but you couldn't agree either. Throw away your hard-earned cash for someone you don't even know? That was the first thought that came to mind; however, your second thought, having completely contradicted your first though, was telling you that even if it's a selfless deed, you're still helping someone who desperately needs the help, which, yes, is a great thing to do. You decided to help someone out at that moment my relieving Ms. Oxton of half her duty; you politely took a bunch of her fliers and began to hand them out with her. You didn't even know why you did, it just felt.. right.
"You should come. It's gonna be a blast! Oh, and bring a special lady.. or gentleman, whichever way you lean. I heard there's gonna be some dancing at the end of it. Could be romantic." She told you. "It's such an amazing theater; there's not just the audience and the stage -- there's even a ballroom right next to it, and there's so much room backstage, it's insane." Lena paused herself when she realized she was rambling a bit. After that, there were just a few more minutes of silence. Luckily, it wasn't awkward silence, just friendly silence. After those silent minutes ended, so had the stacks of papers. She sighed gently and turned to you.
"I found this outfit in the corner of a mall store. It's cute, isn't it?" You couldn't help but snicker quietly when she wiggled her hips, making the dress jingle and jangle like bells.
She laughed gently before pausing again. Her phone was going off.
