Chad was lonely. He was surrounded by his friends yet he felt lonelier than ever. Bert and James had girls back home and it looked like Alexander and Aaron were discovering a new feeling with these two girls. He literally had no one like that anymore. His sister spent all her time with James and now the boys didn't really notice him.
He sighed. The group laughed but he didn't join them. He didn't have the heart to laugh. No one noticed how he was feeling. Not until Aaron turned to face Chad. He had a huge smile on his face but it slipped off when he saw Chad. "What's wrong?" Aaron asked quietly.
Chad shook his head. He forced a smile on his face. "Nothing."
"Chad, I know when you're lying," Aaron told him, crossing his arms. "We've been best friends for years. You should give me some credit."
Chad shrugged, looking at his hands. "I'm fine, Aaron. Really. Just thinking about something."
"Okay," Aaron said, nodding. "But get that off your mind. We're celebrating for completing this song and we need you. You are the life of the party, after all."
Chad's smile turned to a real one. "Thanks. Now, where are we celebrating at?"
"Well, the girls found a club on the other side of town but James and Bert and Alexander are against that idea," Aaron told him and Chad laughed. "I think they're looking for like a restaurant or something now."
"I'm open for food," Chad said, nodding.
"That's why they're looking for a restaurant," Aaron said, laughing.
"Oh, just so you guys know," Chad said loudly, "I'm a vegetarian now."
"What?" Bert asked, shock apparent on his face. "When did you become a vegetarian?"
"I've been thinking about it since I got Pup," Chad said, shrugging. "I love him and animals a lot so I don't want to eat them."
Ellie nodded. "Respect, man."
Chad smiled. Maybe he could be apart of the group. Suddenly, an idea hit him. "Hey, I have an idea," he said, stopping. "Dudes, stop walking." The other boys stopped walking, with Maddie and Ellie joining. "If we have a music video for this song, I have an amazing idea."
"Come on," Alexander said with a grin. "You can't lead us on without telling us what you're idea is."
"Okay, okay," Chad said. "Get ready guys. This is gonna be huge!" He looked around at the group and saw their expectant faces. "The music video will be set in a high school. Bert and Ellie, you two are the main characters. Bert, you focus on like how sad you are and stuff while Ellie runs around with Alex."
"Woah. With me?" Alexander asked, pointing to himself.
"Yes," Chad said slowly. "I said your name, didn't I?"
"You sure did, Chad."
"Okay, then it is you," Chad said, nodding.
"We all will be in the music video and such but those three are the main characters of it. Maddie, you will obviously be Ellie's bestie in it. Aaron, you're a nerd."
"Gee, thanks," Aaron said sarcastically.
"James, you can be . . . a teacher."
"For real?" James asked, laughing. "I get the best part!"
"Bert, I'm your best friend," Chad said with a grin.
"Oh yeah!" Bert said, high fiving the new blonde. "This is going to be the best music video ever. Now, we just have to record the song and we'll be good."
"Which I found a recording studio so we can do it whenever," James said, nodding.
"Is it in this city?" Chad asked.
"Where have you been in this entire conversation?" James asked, laughing. "Yes, here in this city. I don't think we should record the music video yet though."
"Good idea," Alexander said, nodding. "If we really want to do the music video we just described, it will take a while. We only have a couple hours in this city so we couldn't do it here."
"Where should we record the music video then?" Ellie asked.
"In a different city," Bert said with a laugh.
Ellie gave him a look and said, "I meant in what city, Bert."
"I totally knew that," he said sheepishly.
"How about we cross that bridge when we get to it," Maddie said, nodding. "Let's go record the song first."
"Good idea," Aaron said, nodding. "Lead the way, James!"
