It was Friday, the last day before the weekend. During school every thought was on the fight. I was scared, I kept telling myself that. But one thing I knew was that I had to fight either way. During P.E. I was better than the other kids. Everyone knew who I was but didn't say anything, due to my status. Those kids in class stayed away from me as I went through my day. This was it.
It was time to fight. I knew that this was it, the final fight between me and Franko. He wanted to kill me. I don't kill. The thought of even killing someone would destroy me. Once I got back to the lanes warehouses I walked in. The mood was different now. Every fighter stared at me and they knew I was going to fight Franko. Some people said it was suicide, he has killed 2 people in the ring, other than that, who knows.
Rale saw me and stopped by to talk to me. "Hey man, just know if you need help, I will tag in if you want." "It's fine Rale, don't worry. I'm not acting tough, it's just that this is something I have to do, ok?" He nodded and I went to my room to relax. 30 minutes later there was a knock at my door. There standing was Chase, Michelle, Rale, and Toga holding pizza, I smiled. "Hey eat up bud, the fight doesn't start 'til another hour!" Chase said as he set down the pizzas on my bed.
For the next hour, we sat and ate, watched movies, and played video games all while being on high alert. They all tried to confort me, telling me I was going to great, but actions speak louder than words. A little later, I started getting ready but they made me sit down and wait. Michelle gave me a massage to help me relax, and hell it did. Then the time came. Once I got out of the shower, I grabbed my gi and put it on. The sweatbands, the shirt and the pants. I put my wraps on, praying one last time. They started flowing with the air. I grabbed my ear piece and put it on as I walked out the door. Everyone nodded as I walked out and we went to the stadium.
It was packed, the whole stadium was full of every fighter, and some people from school, but one thing I didn't like was that there was the armed men from last time right here guarding the entrances. Franko really didn't want people getting out. I looked around and spotted Vanessa and Nathan. Rale and the others went to go meet up with them and I waved. Everyone was cheering and I smiled until I saw Franko was standing in the Ring. He looked at me, his grim smile paving it's way into my mind.
I walked up and entered the ring. "Hey catch!" Rale tossed a knife at me and I had trouble catching it. "You forgot to bring a weapon, well that's typical, considering it's you. I got into my fighting stance with the knife. I almost forgot about the weapons rule until Rale tossed me the knife. The ref walked up and he started speaking.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, due to some arrangements, the A-class fighter Franko will be fighting C-class fighter Weights! As you know we can't change the arrangements once they are made." He looked towards me with pity. He knew Franko was in the ring. "In the left corner, Franko! Weapon of choice, katana!" Franko pulled it out and slashed it in my direction, cutting the air.
"In the right, Weights! Weapon of choice, Switch blade!" I tightened my hand wraps and got into stance again. "Well everyone get ready for the fight! Who knows who will win, but my guess is Franko! Ready!" I relaxed. "Set!" I clutched the knife. "Begin!" His voice boomed through the speakers as I charged headfirst. He was taking me seriously now, I had to be open to every option. I went in for a slash, but quickly backed up as he swung the katana. Thwip! The katana was cutting through the air!
I ducked as he swung again, this time the blade cutting a snip of hair. Thwip! I went in for another hit, but he was to fast. As he was getting ready to swing. I attacked. "Now!" I punched his forearm, knocking the katana out of his hand. He looked at me his eyes dead in my view. I hit elbowed him in the face as people went wild. "Wow look at that folks, Weights actually managed to inflict damage on Franko!" The announcer yelled into the mic. "Look out!" Rale yelled into my ear. I dodged another hit. I wasn't going to use the knife I had no use for it. Instead I grabbed the katana and tried to threaten Franko.
